I stayed at Port Barton Overlook for 17 nights in one of the bungalows, which gave me a good sense of the property and its strengths. The location, set above Port Barton, offers lovely views and a calm, secluded atmosphere away from the growing bustle of town. It was a peaceful base and a good place to work on a laptop.
A major benefit—and one of the main reasons I chose to stay here—was the availability of a shared kitchen. Being able to cook was a real advantage, particularly for a longer stay, and made the accommodation feel more liveable than many other options in Port Barton.
The property could benefit from a bit more attention to detail in terms of overall guest experience. While the kitchen is a real plus, it would be improved by better and more complete kitchenware for guests who cook regularly.
Access and movement around the grounds require some care. The dirt pathways can become quite slick when wet, and trimming back some of the surrounding greenery would make the sometimes slippery stone walkways safer and easier to navigate, especially in rainy conditions.
The bungalow itself could also use some upgrades. Sliding doors did not always move smoothly and could be better sealed to keep insects out. Improvements to lighting and electrics would also help, as the current setup felt somewhat improvised, with floor-level lights and extension leads rather than more permanent fixtures.

L’emplacement est magnifique mais quel dommage que ce ne soit pas entretenu
Le jardin est magnifique et la vue exceptionnelle
Allan qui vous accueille est très gentil
L’accès à l’établissement: un chemin de terre en pente très rude et quand il pleut c est quasi impossible de monter ou descendre
L une des marches pour accéder à notre bungalow s est cassé et personne n’est venu pour réparer
Les salles de bains et toilettes ne sont pas nettoyées
Le personnel est quasi inexistant
Et enfin le bruit! Le moon’s bar qui est juste dessous fait de la musique jusqu a 6h du mat et même avec des bouchons d’oreille le sommeil est dur à trouver
