This place is an absolute treasure. Perched amid lush gardens on a working farm, the setting is nothing short of breathtaking, with panoramic views that made us pause every time we looked out. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who offered us freshly picked fruit straight from the farm—an incredibly personal and generous touch.
He also gave us a fantastic tour of his small-batch, chemical-free coffee operation, which was both fascinating and inspiring. Naturally, we left with two bags of his delicious coffee!
We had the entire house to ourselves and spent hours tucked into the cozy window nook, reading while the rain gently fell outside. Hummingbirds fluttered by, and we even spotted a few curious mongooses—magical moments we won’t forget.
There are a couple of great local eateries in the nearby town that happily deliver right to your door, making it easy to enjoy amazing food without leaving the peace and quiet.
This stay made our whole trip to Jamaica truly special. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer—but we’ll absolutely be back.
Nothing that was not characteristic of a working farmhouse in the remote hills of Jamaica. It was great.

We stayed at the end of January/beginning of February. The location is fantastic. You truly are in the middle of the mountains. Stunning views every day, and the abundance of delicious fresh fruit on the trees, were wonderful.
We traveled with 4 young kids ages 7 and under, and it was great for them. Once we blocked off the ladder to the upper level, it was safe for our toddler. They enjoyed all of the flat areas outside to run around on, as well as picking guavas, oranges and grapefruit off of the trees to eat fresh. I miss those oranges so much. Truly the tastiest and juiciest oranges I've ever had!
The drive up from Buff Bay is harrowing at points but absolutely stunning. Definitely take that route if you can.
Lyle and his team went out of their way to ensure that our stay was amazing, and it was! We actually extended our stay for a few additional days, as we didn't want to leave! We can't wait to return when we are next in JA.
Interior of the home could be updated more. The couch is old and worn. The kitchen, bathroom and second bedroom could use flooring instead of the rough concrete floors. However, the photos are accurate. It is rustic so as long as your expectation matches the photos, then you're fine.
Be sure to bring repellant as the mosquitos are hungry 😊 Lyle also provides citronella candles which help a lot.

This is basically a paradise. There are birds a plenty, lots of fruit in the garden and the staff are really nice and friendly but also give plenty of privacy. We were there with a family of 5 and it worked great. Host is very friendly. Swimming in the river was delightful - but bring mosquito spray. We arrived in a hatchback Alantra car (not a 4x4) and we really did struggle on the last part of the drive with the car bottoming out. Arrive early, leave plenty of time for the drive and expect to bottom out in a few places unless you have a 4x4. Book for at least a couple of nights.
It was very charming and rustic. We didn’t have hot water but there normally is hot water.
