Where to begin?? The best kept secret in the Japanese Alps. Off the beaten track, a cosy rustic guesthouse run by the nicest couple. They prepare the most delicious food all locally grown in their farm, including home made fresh juices. Breakfast left us speechless. The rooms and dining area are charming, decorated to the finest detail, blending with the amazing scenery of the mountains and the beautiful small village of Urugi. You will not want to leave this place.
Note that rooms have a private sink and toilets but bathing is in the next door, wonderful public Onsen. We didn’t mind, it was a nice, relaxing experience. Opening hours are limited though to 10am-8pm, and our kids wouldn’t use a public bath..

Amazingly friendly and welcoming hosts!!! Unique place with an atmosphere. And excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
The place is a bit worn down, the spacious family room (sleeps six) we stayed in was more of a youth hostel dorm, and not particularly charming.
All acceptable if it wasn't for the excessive price which did not match the quality provided.
The great food however, although not a bargain either, was well worth the money!!
