Louisa Cottage Private with All Round Rural Views
About this cottage rental
Situated in Havelock North, this lovely cottage for $89 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This cottage is conveniently located near to Havelock North and Hastings, being only 5 minutes from Havelock North and less than 15 minutes from Hastings city centre. It is built within a 2 hectare (five acre) lifestyle block, being about 100 metres distance from the main residence. It is very private, has extensive rural views and is set within nicely maintained grounds. The Louisa Stream (hence the cottage name) runs nearby, and parents of young children must provide necessary supervision. Please note: WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OLD, SO DO NOT COUNT THEM AS A GUEST. The cottage is not suitable for wheelchair access. Thre is a secure floor safe suitable for passports, cash, valuables etc. Please ask if you want a key to this safe. The cottage enjoys all day sun, with both a North and a West facing deck. There is a stunning view south towards Mount Erin, and because there is little light pollution, the night sky is spectacular. There is a large hedge separating the cottage grounds from the adjoining property, which has in the past been an apple orchard but the tree were removed in late 2022. It has not been replanted to date (August 2023). The owners have pet hens and a rooster. If the hens co-operate (they are rather temperamental) they may produce some eggs for our guests! The birds are about 60 metres distance from the cottage. There is other birdlife around, including Pukekos who can screech at night. Special conditions: Guests must set our intruder alarm to armed when they are out. We do not want any smoking on our property. The decks are only about 400mm high, but have no railing so may not be suitable for small children unless supervised. No pets. Extras: Cleaning (included); Linen (included);

Beautiful cottage just out of town, hosts, Eddie and Julie, are lovely friendly people who are very willing to help you in any way they can. Lovely fresh home made and home grown goodies were an extra treat. I would recommend this place and would definitely come back again

Probably one of the best stays we gave experienced. Lovely hosts and a wonderful accomodation with everything you need and more. So comfortable and well equiped. Close to everything but enough out of town to feel rural. Just a spectacular stay and we will be back for sure!

Was travelling with mum - this amazing property met every need and more. Hosts were lovely and so accommodating, especially with our unintentional late arrival. They were attentive to all our needs while still giving us our space. The homemade/grown goodies an exra treat. It was lovely to open the curtains each day to see little critters exploring their world outside - rabbits, doves, ducks, quail, hovering hawkes. The setting was very private and quiet, the photos just don't do it justice. The house is refreshingly modern in an English elegance style - it felt like "home" the moment we stepped through the door. Loved the vase of fresh roses that were in full bloom on the property. Highly recommend, will be staying again in the future :)

Just outside Havelock North, situated in mature gardens, this two bedroom cottage was perfect as a base to explore the wineries!

Comfortable warm and cosy. Lovely environment with relaxing atmosphere. Well setup cottage with e verything you could want. Maybe some signage would help to find the place is the only constructive criticism I could make.
We would be happy to stay again.

This is a beautiful presented home, it's not a bach, or converted building, this is a home, the Louisa House is just that, with everything you need on arrival and settle in for your stay. With fresh produce from the owners who show you round on arrival and make you feel special to share this experience. If you have never been and looking for a little get away would well recommend. We will be booking again for our next trip to Hawkes Bay.

Everything about Louisa Cottage was a pleasant surprise. The hosts were charming and very helpful. The cottage was warm, sunny, private and very well equipped. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed in NZ. We will be back next year.

A beautiful cottage and very homely. Hosts go out of their way to ensure your stay is the best possible.
A personal note is that some maybe travelling for work. A small desk would be a real winner as the dining table isn’t understandably comfortable you can sit at all day.
Credit to the hosts who show their pride in this cottage and visitors.

A friend and I came up to play at a 3 day Bridge tournament. We were very happy here, very comfortable beds, quiet surroundings and wonderful produce that the hosts and provided. The cottage was perfect for our needs. We appreciated the peacefulness and the beautiful views from the cottage. The cottage itself was very spacious and comfy with plenty of spaces to relax. Julie and Eddie were very welcoming and friendly and extremely generous with their included provisions. We particularly enjoyed the homemade soup and muesli!
We also appreciated the early check-in. Highly recommend this cottage.

Exceptionally comfortable and spacious cottage in a quiet, picturesque setting. From the generous breakfast supplies and well equipped kitchen to the super comfortable bed, the cottage had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Julie and Eddie couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful .

We recently stayed with Julie and Eddie in their cottage. We were only there for the weekend, as we had a friend’s wedding to attend. We wished we had stayed longer. Julie and Eddie are some of the nicest people we have ever met. Their property is spectacular. The photos do not do it justice. The cottage was clean, warm and had ample space for 4+ people. It has great amenities, comfy beds, ample bedding and linen and is surround by beautiful landscapes. Eddie went over and above to make us feel welcome. He stocked the fridge with butter, jam, eggs, yoghurt, milk and juice. We even had a sampler of cheese and biscuits and some of Julie’s delicious granola mix and preserved plums. We felt so spoiled and cannot thank Julie and Eddie enough for their hospitality, especially when Eddie provided a ride for us to the wedding in his own car, at no additional cost. They are both such warm, genuine people. This isn’t a cottage, it is a home away from home. We will definitely return again for a much needed break. We had a wonderful time at Louisa Cottage. Julie and Eddie are amazing hosts. There was all kinds of produce available to us and although we had brought food from home, the extra touches were very thoughtfully provided. The fresh fruit and flowers were also very much appreciated. This was a return visit for us and the cottage was just as well set up as it was on our first visit.

Very lovely friendly owners who went out of their way to provide most delicious Gluten free food.
Cottage has beautiful furniture and great equipment and was most spacious for our stay for the two of us.
Grounds are peaceful and restful with beautiful trees as well as being good driving distance to shops.
We arrived on a rainy day and uncovered front steps makes it not the best unlocking. We found the main bed a little uncomfortable.

Beautiful cottage in lovely rural setting just minutes from town. Thoughtful hosts went well beyond expectation in the amenities provided, including fresh eggs, preserves, fruit and home made toasted muesli for brekkie. Every comfort provided!
