My wife and I loved our time at Barb's house in Vermont! The house was very clean and has literally anything and everything you would need for your time there. My wife and I bring a lot of our own things to use just in case, but we could have left it all behind. The house was incredibly private and secluded, especially when hanging out on the deck outside. Our dogs loved it too! The lake was clean and great for swimming. The only negative thing was the crazy amount of mosquitoes, but it had been a very rainy summer by all accounts. Obviously this isn't anyone's fault, but when the wind was still, sitting outside was tough. The lake frontage is huge and very private and tons of kayaks, canoes, paddles, etc are supplied. Getting in and out of the lake was very easy - gentle slope and rocks to walk on. There are some flat rocks on the lake front as well, so its easy to hang out down on the lake with some chairs. The yard has a huge grass area for the dogs to run around, and its very nice that its separated from the water so after you've cleaned and dried the dogs off for the day, its easy to keep them away from the water and dry for the rest of the night. We have rented many similar places on lakes over the years, and this by far was the best! We have never liked a place enough to return and have continued looking for that great place, and we finally found it at Barbs beautiful house on the lake in Vermont! See you next year!

The house is lovely and the views are stunning! The hospitality of the owner was unmatched! From the welcome basket to the chocolates on the pillows every detail had alot of thought and care put into it. The pool table and ping pong table was enjoyed on a rainy day. Fishing was great! Overall beautiful vacation!!

Absolutely beautiful place. Coffee on the balcony, listening to the waves. Check in was late but Barb and the property made up for it. We had a great time playing pool and air hockey the 1st night and just exploring and relaxing the second day. Super dog friendly and that guy thoroughly enjoyed the lake and huge yard! Picture perfect location on lake, quiet and private, modern fully equipped house with an outside gas firepit, with Adirondack chairs surrounding it,many birds in view off of upper or lower decks,choice of watercraft at docks down trail to lake,friendly host,liked my guitar picking,look forward to returning soon!

You will not find ANYTHING better than this wonderful home away from home lake house which is located in the perfect spot! We were blown away by the majestic views of the lake and mountains which can be seen practically from every window. We thoroughly enjoyed the gourmet high end Kitchen along with the gleaming hardwood and tile floors. This home is equipped with just about everything you need. There are too many amenities to mention them all. Beautifully well maintained property. We spent most of our time on the 2nd floor deck (just off the master bedroom) taking in the glorious views and just enjoying the property. We can not say enough about how amazing the host is. Barb is sweet, kind and genuine, the kind of person you wish you had for a friend. We will definitely be returning and we highly recommend this spot! It is a peaceful retreat that will revitalize any soul.

The house is super clean, well stocked with essentials and comfortable. The outdoor space is serene with plenty of seating options to take in the magnificent views. There are lawn games and kayaks to keep you entertained throughout the day and a pool table, ping pong, darts and board games to enjoy at night. The location can’t be beat and the fact that it’s pet friendly is a big plus for us! Our Lab thoroughly approves! Thanks again for a great stay and we look forward to coming back soon!

This place was a dream come true! The home itself is perfectly comfortable with so many amenities. Our hosts were the most awesome dog people, accommodating our pup so well. The bed was so comfy too! But the best part was the fishing in front of the house! 7lb bass and 20lb channel cats can be easily caught from shore! The number of fish we caught was amazing. We will definitely return!

Is there a better place to be during a surprise record-breaking heatwave than a beautiful house on the lake? My daughter and I enjoyed our midweek trip to this beautiful home were blown away by the views and amenities. The bathtub was relaxing, the bed comfy, the decks huge, and the living room a wonderful place to relax!

Our stay here was certainly one of theost beautiful and peaceful stays we have ever experienced. The views from the deck are stunning. The house itself well laid out and beautifully set up. The pictures of the property do not do it justice!! Absolutely gorgeous cabin and the bed and master bath bath were to die for! As well as the view from the upstairs bedroom deck!! All views are stunning and the location remote enough to get away from it all but with enough stores nearby to get what you need. Some are a bit of a jaunt, but given Fall in Vermont, it was not the least bit of a bother! Lots of artsy shops in the towns nearby, historical sites to visit and great restaurants too (highly recommend the Red Mill Restaurant and Porky's [best barbacue I have ever had!]). Barb was gracious, kind and very funny and went out of her way to greet us and review everything with us (even a lesson on bumper pool in their wonderful game room downstairs :) !) . The wildlife we witnessed while there was great too: bald eagles, bats at dusk (not bothersome and quite entertaining!), tons of birds, lots of bunnies and a friendly cat who stopped by each night to greet us. Can't say enough about this wonderful cabin and the kindness of everyone we met in Vermont!! You won't regret going here.

I had the joy to stay at "The Barbs" place in August 2022. It was an extremely restful and relaxing vacation. A true getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The house was truly amazing - the kitchen was better equipped than my own kitchen at home. The views from every room in the house were breathtaking. The house came with so many water floats and boats. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful - they really went out of their way to make the trip worry-free. My 7-year-old boxer dog (dealing with unexpected blindness) was completely at ease in their house, their amazing yard, and their decks.
I would recommend a stay here throughout the entire year - I imagine it would be equally as beautiful in the fall, winter, and spring.

We really enjoyed our time at the property. There were a few minor issues. The lawn wasn't mowed and the path to the water wasn't extremely well-maintained. We also noticed a lot of dust and cobwebs on the doors and windows throughout the house. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. Barb was extremely kind and helpful. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the amenities are unbeatable. A wonderful place to rest and relax. The listing photos should be updated because they do not do this property justice. It is just beautiful.

The house is beautiful. Our dog loved running down to the frozen lake and back. The weather did not cooperate and the path to the lake was a mess due to a large snow storm when we arrived but that’s Vermont weather. I can imagine staying here in the summer would be perfect for kayaking. Very relaxing and private back yard. Barb was very nice.
