About this cottage rental
Situated in Indian River, this charming cottage for $158 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. A safe sandy beach awaits you, along with brilliant sunsets, and stunning views. You will discover that Burt Lake is one of northern Michigan's largest and most pristine warm-water inland lakes. You will stay in our private well-equipped guesthouse and be our personal guests. Since we have only one rental unit on our 100 feet of sandy beach, you will have a quiet, relaxing vacation with complete privacy. Our Burt Lake Guesthouse is spacious, clean, air-conditioned, and completely smoke-free. The guesthouse was completely remodeled in 2018, which included doubling the size of the shower. It comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, and open-plan dining and living area. There is a large comfortable queen-size bedroom. You will have your own breakfast deck, which overlooks the lake. There is nothing between the guesthouse and the lake, except lawn, trees, and beach. You have your choice of relaxing in the shady hammock, or sunning yourself directly on the beach. You may bring your own boat and use our dock and mooring. We have the perfect beach for swimming, kayaking, or sailing. Nearby trails are great for hiking and mountain-biking. Dozens of golf courses are in the area, and the nearest is just two miles away. We are centrally located in northern Michigan, less than thirty minutes from Petoskey, Gaylord, Cheboygan, Harbor Springs, and the Mackinaw Island Ferry. This property offers excellent value for those seeking a rental for just two people. You get a quality accommodation with a wonderful sandy beach, and all the space you need for two people. You get all the advantages of renting an expensive lake-front home, while only having to pay a fraction of the price for the guesthouse. We also offer NUTRITIONAL RETREATS for those who are interested in leaving their old eating habits behind and embarking on a fresh start into a healthy lifestyle.

The guest house was perfect for two people! It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed! We loved the quiet neighborhood with all the hiking trails that were nearby. The best part though was the lake. Absolutely beautiful!

The lake itself was the best; clean, picturesque and sandy-bottomed for a long ways out. Perfect for swimming and boating. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The guesthouse itself was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed opening the windows for a nice cross breeze but air conditioning was an option had I needed it. The only drawback was that you had to climb up and down a flight of stairs. The hosts were wonderful - they were consistently cheerful and helpful but not intrusive on my vacation experience at all.

Jess and Pam were excellent hosts. Took the time to give great recommendations and even took us on a bike ride and hike. We brought our kayaks and bikes. Enjoyed a kayak trip setting off from the house , through Burt lake, Indian river and into Mullet lake. Lots of biking trails in the area and fun towns to visit. All easy accessible. I couldn't have picked a better place to unwind. Jess and Pam have a beautiful place and were always helpful if needed. Everything was very clean and I felt very welcomed and right at home. I could hear the waves at night and the birds chirping in the morning. I really enjoyed my time there and would love to stay again.

Just the Best
Renting from Jess and Pam was seamless all the way through. Their responses to our questions were very prompt and informing. Their guest house was immaculate -every room was very clean, and had many helpful touches in each room. A porch for for us to sit and relax and view the lake. A well stocked kitchen with everything you need - don’t even bring a spoon! The coffee table in the front room had a basket full of brochures from everywhere nearby. They also had photo albums of some of the most beautiful photos of their Lake and land from every season.
The bed is very comfortable and in a good sized bedroom - even has a rocking chair. The dining area is a good size also. The bathroom has a heater fan in the ceiling that was sooo nice after a shower. The shower was perfect also. They have a beach, deck, hammock, picnic table, canoe, and a paddle boat - all for our enjoyment! The Millers were helpful and friendly and gave us many ideas for restaurants and area places to visit. On a scale of 1-10 we give the Millers a solid 10! We hope to go back soon!! Thank you for the most enjoyable anniversary week!!

Absolutely lovely guest home and property. Guest house is clean, comfortable and very well stocked with what you need. Lake property is incredible. Water is so clear with lots of swimming area. Owners very available to give area information. Only problem could be if you are counting on wi-fi. It doesn't connect readily. And not to be used for streaming of any type per owner.
