Situated in Dry Fork, this attractive house for $210 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Completely renovated and refurnished 2-story contemporary home on private wooded lot; large great room; spacious deck; outdoor hot tub in gazebo; lake privileges. Canaan Valley, truly the mid-Atlantics playground, is nestled in the scenic Hills of West Virginia, and boasts world-class skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and golfing. With easy access to National Forest Lands, Wildlife Refuge, Wilderness areas, and two State Parks, explore the endless possibilities here. Your family will enjoy our quaint mountain towns and shop or browse in our many antique, gift and specialty shops or enjoy some fairs and festivals. Tucker County has 4 breathtaking seasons to enjoy. In the winter, we pick up much of our annual 150 snowfall from the Great Lakes whenever strong Northwesterly winds drop out of Canada. Spring brings some of the best hunting and fishing, and wildflowers. Escape the heat of summer where temperatures rarely exceed the mid 80s. Autumn brings cool temperatures and blazing colors of our extensive hardwood forests. OLD TIMBERLINE - A private, gated community located in beautiful Canaan Valley. You have access to both Spruce Island Lake and Sand Run Lake in Timberline to canoe and fish at (swimming prohibited by the HOA) and access to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area. You will be staying in a private, gated community. Please have a list of everyone that will be staying in the house (first & last names) and vehicle information. A guard house form will be given to you at check-in for you to put the information on that you will give to the guards. It's nice and close to Timberline mountain, and pretty private and nice woodland surrounding. The property management team was very responsive and tried their best to accommodate issues, but really the house is in bad shape and there isnt much they can do for it.
The house is in dire need of maintenance. The dryer was broken and not producing heat, and towels left in it by housekeeping were soaking and would not get dry (this makes me question how they washed the sheets). The washer was molding. The master bedroom sink was dripping badly. We opened the fireplace damper, but fires would not stay lit even with red hot coals from lots of firestarter, indicating that the chimney is likely clogged and needs to be cleaned (it certainly appeared in need of it). The hot tub was very nice, but you could see visible dirt floating in it. Several doors don't shut, laundry room door is hung super crooked and bedroom door doesn't latch. There is a note on the fridge that is so old it's faded, about not putting anything on the dining table because it's being refurbished and is sticky (it is). The heat boils the kids room with the bunk bed while the down stairs is ice cold. The shower heads need replacing and spray wild and very softly (the ladies in our group didn't wash hair the whole trip because it would have taken an hour to get the shampoo out). The toilets are worn & could use a refresh to elongated bowls (tiny round bowls are very eighties and not design for grown men).

This is a wonderful property! It’s big and clean, and the TV has been updated since we last stayed so it is modern and has streaming services. The check in process is cumbersome in that you drive to the rental office to pick up keys instead of going straight to the property. Our main issue is that the rental office sent an email with a rental agreement but it didn’t come from Vrbo so we didn’t see it and they never reached out via the app to let us know they sent it. I asked for the check in process via the app and they told me (after 4pm) that they needed the digitally signed agreement by 5pm or they couldn’t leave keys for us at the rental office. We had already been on the road on the way to the property so I am very glad I reached out to them. It would’ve been helpful if they had sent a message through VRBO to let us know about the agreement coming from their email address. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time during a week spent at Wintercadence in the summer of 2022. The house is fully appointed with new appliances and entertainment options, and is spacious, quiet and comfortable. The location is near many outdoor activities and parks and we look forward to returning.

And when the mouse ran across the living room Saturday night.......well we were just so glad that we were going home the next day. We never experienced a problem like that before. The highlight of the weekend was meeting the dog, Frankenstein. The office staff were extremely friendly.........maintenance.....not helpful.

This was a great house, big areas for family, room setup and bathrooms worked perfect. Kitchen was loaded with everything you could need. Big Deck, Very cool hottub, big garage area this is definitely somewhere we would stay at again. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the location in Old Timberline with access to Dolly Sods with so many hiking trails. The house was very nicely furnished and decorated. There were lots of books, games and movies to choose from. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware, dishware, appliances, etc. I loved the added touches, like the beautiful lamps throughout the home with dimmer switches, and the throws (blankets) around the living room. These were perfect as the weather turned colder during our stay. Overall, just a very comfy house in a great location and we would love to stay here again. Location in gated community of Old Timberline with miles of roads to walk, beautiful views from the mountain top, and access to Dolly Sods for hiking. I called the rental office with some questions before booking the property and the young lady I spoke with, Dakota, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property. Dakota was also there when we arrived to pick up the keys from the office. She was very friendly, and explained everything (directions, rules, etc.) in perfect detail. The internet passwords we were given did not work, so when calling about the internet problem, we were given instructions on how to log on by other means. We departed before the office opened and left the keys in the drop box which was convenient.

We've stayed at this property many times. It's very nice, well decorated (love the bears!), and the outdoor hot tub in winter is so much fun. The TV is old and the image is very dark, I'd recommend that the owners get a new one :-).
