I loved the peaceful garden restaurant and the wonderful staff. Everyone here are so kind and helpful, it felt like home.

This is a great accommodation option for the price - getting separate individual rooms for me and my Mom didn’t hurt our budget, and we could have rest from each other during our dynamic travels. Quiet, not crowded. The location is great, you can easily reach Thamel on foot, shops and gym are nearby. The airport is not far either. There is an opportunity to leave your baggage at the hostel in case you’re going to another city for several days (we did it twice). There is a cafe with nice prices, big meals,REAL coffee, free drinking water, a kettle and microwave to use and a refrigerator to keep your own food if needed. And the most important thing is that the staff and owners are great people that are always ready to help you and show individual approach. There is a Buddhist spirit about this simple but very friendly place. For me, this is a place to come back! :)
Note: Everywhere in Nepal we had issues with hot water, including the Best Hostel. If you want to make the bathroom experience here most comfortable, tell Sunny or helpers a bit in advance that you’re going to take shower and they will do their best to provide enough hot water for that. Be patient, keep contact, and all will be good :)

Very friendly and helpful young lady at reception.
Free water refill.
Both nights and both early mornings were very noisy, mostly due to other guests, slamming doors, shouting, trampling up and down the stairs.
They even smoked inside the hostel, very disrespectful.
There were also loud noises from the nearby buildings (schools, etc.).
You have to ask for hot water each time before showering.
The first day this worked fine, the second day the water was only barely lukewarm, even after some waiting time.
Location is far from sights, pollution is generally horrible in Kathmandu, so walking around the area is not a nice option.
Sunny, the manager (?), offered us airport transfer for 20 USD when he whatsapped us!!!
This is a crazy price, it's only 6km from the hostel to the airport.
We found a taxi ourselves and paid 400 NPR (about 3 USD).
It leaves a bitter taste when he tried to overcharge his guests like this!
We would like to stress that the young lady at reception was the exact opposite: kind, and always trying to help - thank you, we appreciate it!
