An absolute jem in the middle of the forest overlooking the ocean

Great location and ocean view from the back deck. Excellent beds, well stocked kitchen.

Tranquil surroundings and stunning bay views

The location was great and view was stunning. The quiet peaceful surroundings with birdsong made it a really special experience. Cosy fire and bay views were spectacular.

Toilet in bathroom was a bit of a hassle with 3 women sharing it.

Loved it, would come again.

The view of the bay and the mountains from lying on the bed was spectacular. The location was awesome

There was heavy rain for part of our stay which hampered some of our planned activities. We should have booked a longer stay to cover for that

Cherrywood cottage is a beautiful accommodation with wonderful views, and gardens, a memorable stay.

Location of Beautiful cottage is superb, amazing views, very clean, tidy, loved satchels coffee provided, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace. and really good books information walks, restaurants, around area.

Probably would add a small round dining table, maybe reorganize couch toward back window next fireplace and removing one sitter sofa altogether.. Would be nice main bedroom have wall shelves some sort to store clothes, otherwise have to leave suitcase and not lot space available

Amazingly picturesque view and quaint cottage

Location! Close to town but secluded amongst the trees. Be a great place for group of friends or extended family to come. Lots to do around Akaroa but especially Pohatu Penguins Guided tour.

The view. Location.

Gas bottles hadn't been checked so we didn't have hot water for the first night but was very quickly fixed. Fuse blew if 2 -3 appliances used.

A very comfortable cottage with bedding for four being a double bed plus two single beds.

We needed to supply food for our breakfast - There are a number of places in Akaroa where you could buy breakfast or and provisions. It was a cold night when we arrive but the heating by way of heater and heat pump were adequate once the property warmed up The property was recently updated and is good condition. It was very comfortable. It was located on a hill in an enclave of a few similar properties.

The property was a little distance from the town of Akaroa. I would suggest that the name was displayed on the roadside rather than just Cottages.

Won’t be back.

We had stayed there a few years prior, it was better then.

No non stick frypan, no scourer to clean the one there, only supplied with 1 dishwasher tablet - are they really that expensive ?? Arrived late arvo, heating was not on so rooms were very cold, the property has a lovely view, but sitting there the windows were dirty. No small table or eating area to eat inside.

Akaroa is a spectacular place to visit and I think we definitely had the pick of the available accommodation.

3 days in Akaroa. Weather terrible but can’t do anything about that. Would be a fantastic place to stay in the summer

Excellent place and great 2 night stay.

This place was situated in a wonderful position with exceptional views of the harbour from the lounge and outside the property. We travelled the South Island for 3 weeks and this property was the very best accommodation we experienced. We only stayed 2 nights but would like to go back there for a longer relaxing stay.

This property was excellent in all areas. Could not be faulted in our opinion.

Wonderful, charning cottage with gorgeous views.

Beautiful location, lovely cottage, stunning views. Couldn’t stop taking photos of the views that would change with the light from hour to hour - especially lovely at sunset.

Some road noise, but not that noticeable at night due to the cicadas (which provided excellent white noise and drowned out any other noises). Not used to having no fly screens, which is apparently normal in NZ. Prefer to sleep with the windows open, but unable to due to flying bugs coming in.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful view. Comfy. Wonderful place to relax day or night. Very convenient for Akaroa.

We would have liked to use the Bbq but it looked dirty and there weren’t any tools to clean it. We felt it should have been cleaned before we arrived.

Loved it. Beautiful spot.

Beautifully furnished, comfortable and with commanding views of the harbour, this property exceeded our expectations. It sits on grounds with other cottages but privacy is guaranteed. Only 2mn drive out of Akaroa.

Nothing, we could retire there.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in an amazing location with incredible views. Had everything we needed in the cottage. The gardens were spectacular, there was a separate laundry on the grounds which was very handy. The location was a very short drive drive into town which we absolutely loved. I definitely want to return to Akaroa one day
