The apartment's location is incredible - so central to the old town, the canals right outside the window, the lake a 2min walk away, shops right outside the front of the building. The view our the windows was gorgeous, and we loved throwing open the ancient shutters and windows to get the benefit of the stunnng views. The apartment itself was very spacious, and the kitchen facilities excellent.
The feel of the apartment was a bit tired - some of the furniture is quite worn and the window shutters and frames are suffering from aging and lack of care... To some degree it adds to the charm, but there's definitely a need for some maintenance. A number of the light switches didn't work either. The other major disappointment was the noise of revellers during the night - each night there would be a handful of drunken revellers yelling for what seemed like hours somewhere just down the canals - I think the sound echoes off the stone walls and pavements, so it travels a distance. It did significantly lessen our rest.

Have to pick up the key from an agent's office. The location is superb, close to everything. It's a roomy, cozy apartment, but with only one bathroom for a party of 5!

Location was good but somewhat noisy.
The place was not very clean. Toilet located in a small separate space, almost like a storage cupboard, separate from main shower room, with no sink to wash your hands! One had to get to the main shower room to wash one’s hands after relieving oneself!
First bedroom has a very small window almost at ceiling level opening out to the central staircase. It was extremely stuffy in there. Second bedroom had no privacy at all as one side of the room had glass partitions with an opening/entrance straight into the living room, to be closed via curtains only. Although fans were provided, they don’t seem to provide much airflow so the apartment was generally hot and stuffy (even with all windows open).
Only 1 key was provided for the premises, we requested for another set of keys but was told they didn’t have a spare key. This was a great inconvenience for 2 couples sharing the apartment especially when we were out sightseeing at different times so someone always had to be around to let the other couple back into the apartment!
