This house was perfect. First of all, it was spotless. Everything was clean, and comfortable. The bedrooms were very nice, comfortable beds, cozy living room and nice kitchen. It felt like you were stepping back in time in this house in every way with the exception of modern convenience. the air conditioners kept the place cool, but they were silent. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was excellent. Over all a great house that is super cute and so great because it was built in 1739.
The location though may be the best part. It is one block from the House of the 7 Gables, which is amazing. We wnet for the tour and it was completely worth it. Our 10 year ols and 13 year old both agree that tour was possibly the best thing we did on our vacation, which also included visiting the beaches of Cape Cod, go carts, kayaking and a dozen other awesome things and the tour of a 17th century historical landmark house was at the top of their list. You have to take the tour to see why, it's very interesting. We think our tour guide Stephen really made it memorable. His story telling brought us right back to the year 1700. Salem is a beautiful city, with extremely interesting things to see and do and this house really sets the stage for the stay. I am trying to get my friends and family to go stay there.

Everything was supplied at the home, including laundry detergent, hair, dryer, iron, ironing, board, shower gel, and shampoo. The only thing you had to supply was the food you were going to eat. Although I brought cards to play in case it rained, there was a great supply of games on the property.

The cottage was lovely and has so much character. Very clean and in a quiet area. Great outside relaxing area. Very convenient and in walking distance to everything. You can catch a ferry to Boston very inexpensive for the commuter run, and its only a 10 minute walk. The place is not super big, but perfect for four adults or small family, or even a girls weekend getaway. Definitely would stay there again and would recommend. Much to do in Salem and a very welcoming vibe from the residents. Great place/area over all. The owner was very receptive and a pleasure to communicate with. Thanks Dale for sharing your home.
