This cabin is amazing! Marianne welcomed us warmly upon arrival, giving us a quick tour of the immaculately clean space. It was a joy to discover all of the decorative touches placed throughout the roomy (but still very cozy) home. Lighting is everything, and there are so many ambient choices - in addition to the glow of the fireplace. During the day, the plentiful windows let in perfect natural light and offered verdant views. Even though I knew they weren't, there were several times my brain suggested they were open because of how clean they were. I am a person who is happiest in nature and the landscaping and surrounding woodlands are magic. We observed 34 species of birds during our stay, with 5 active nests within view. There were blooming red trillium and jack-in-the-pulpit, unfurling ferns and an Ann Magnolia along the driveway that sweetened the air. Between our outside time, reading and game playing, we didn't turn on the tv once during the week (although there's a very nice one to enjoy streaming services). Our dog was also incredibly relaxed during his stay and we so appreciate the pet friendly designation. Thank you so much for being a lovely host, Marianne - we will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful Christmas getaway at the cabin! The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were snowed in the whole week but the cabin was lovely and it made for a perfect trip! Would return!

The cabin was cozy, wonderfully decorated for the holidays, clean,well organized and the best host ever! There was not one thing this property lacked. My family had a wonderful 7 day stay here. We explored the area and had dinner at some wonderful places. We will definitely look forward to another stay. The only sad part of our stay was when we had to leave this wonderful cabin .

You don't realize how much noise everyday life throws at you until you have a true opportunity to step away from it. Work, commuting, Zoom, social media, texts, FOMO, it is RELENTLESS.
This property seemed like the perfect escape for us to disappear with our pups and it did not disappoint. The house and grounds are all well maintained. Marianne puts alot of thought into what a guest might need, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, etc. Communication was always quick and easy before arrival and with the few questions we had during the stay.
As nice as it is to enjoy some solitude, the town of Wellsboro is just a 15 minute drive away. Great little downtown with shops and good selection of eateries, plus a supermarket for cook at home options. Add 15 mins more and you're in Harrison park at the Grand Canyon of PA. Plenty of options for hiking at all skill levels.
Lastly, we did put our dogs in the kennel at Grand Canyon Vets in Wellsboro for the day and headed to the Glass Museum in Corning NY, a 45-minute drive and well worth a visit. The kennel is only 2 years old, really well maintained and a great staff (* 5 out of 5 dog bone recommendation!)
One caveat to note is the internet at the house can be a little spotty if you're a truly wired person. You might have to take a drive into town to see the latest TikTok video. Or you can bring some books and guitars and disconnect like we did. There are plenty of games and DVD's too.
Additionally, we would suggest grabbing a paper map of theTioga County area. GPS will drop out for miles along with the cell service due to the mountains. If you're old like us, you'll be able read the map just fine. If you're young make sure you take a video for posterity of your co-pilot. Trust me, it will be a funny memory to look back on one day.
