Located inside Lake Placid, they are a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the center of town. Lake Placid is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains and is the Winter Sports Capital of the World. Lake Placid has hosted two Olympics. All the Olympic Venues are still operating with athletes training on any given day in the winter or summer. The house was perfect for a small family trip to the mountains! Clean, homey and perfectly sized, we had a really lovely stay in Lake Placid. There were plenty of linens and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen was suitable for cooking as well!

Welcoming neighbors, clean home, convenient location. Owners just a call/text away. Surrounded by many beautiful hikes (of all walking levels, catering to all ages). The walk to town includes Olympic Center, Mirror Lake, shopping and restaurants. A great place to escape the daily routine; take in the beauty of nature and all the peace it brings. Recommend stay.

My family enjoyed our stay at the Westcott townhouse. Very spacious and clean. The owner was available to explain using the fireplace and responsive to any questions we had. There are stores nearby within walking distance.
Downtown Lake Placid is within a good walking distance but is hilly, if you’re not an avid walker. There are sidewalks which is a good thing.
The grounds around the house were well maintained and in a safe area.
We all agreed we’d stay here again.

Great townhouse and proximity to LP
My family enjoyed our stay at the Westcott townhouse. Very spacious and clean. The owner was available to explain using the fireplace and responsive to any questions we had. There are stores nearby within walking distance.
Downtown Lake Placid is within a good walking distance but is hilly, if you’re not an avid walker. There are sidewalks which is a good thing.
The grounds around the house were well maintained and in a safe area.
We all agreed we’d stay here again.

I would also like to suggest to the owner to install light blocking blinds in the bedrooms, as the light woke us up very early every morning. Except for those 2 issues, I would highly recommend staying at Spruce Lodge

We stayed in one of the condo's for several days. They were very nice and comfortable, except the beds were very hard. Exceptional
We stayed in one of the townhouses. It was very clean, spacious, well decorated and just perfect for 2 couples and a 3 yr old. The fireplaces were easy to use,; the kitchen well stocked with basic dishes, glassware, cookware. Very large family room and dining room. The 2nd floor 3 bedrooms are nicely decorated and good size. We especially appreciated all the floor space, outdoor porch and sitting areas, the beautiful backyard views. We would consider staying reserving this unit again. Downside: Parking is very tight in a small lot. My first impression of the reception area in the separate main house was not good. The office/ living room(?) was very cluttered with papers, toys...stuff...The reception person, who we did speak to on a couple occasions, did not introduce herself, did not converse much, dressed as disorganized as the room. There's casual..and then too casual...The townhouse was excellent and I would recommend this property for a stay...can't review the rooms in the main house...

Failure to Refund
We booked this rental for the Columbus Day Weekend. The day before our scheduled arrival, Carol (presumably the owner) told us that the home experienced significant damage due to a kitchen fire just that morning, and that she would issue me a full refund due to the inconvenience. Of course, I expressed my sympathy for the fire and wished them luck with the renovation. I did also ask about refund details. Despite several emails and now almost a week passing since the promise of a refund, I have neither received a response nor the refund owed. I am incredibly sympathetic that they experienced such a loss and I do wish them the best, but I also need my money back as promised.

TERRIFIC Home at the Wescotts
Our son is participating in the developmental Skeleton program at the Olympic bobsled track in Lake Placid, so we have occasion to stay in Lake Placid. This is our first year of having to do this - and it's been quite a bit of back and forth from Pennsylvania. We've found much of Lake Placid to be priced competitive to each other, yet the facilities can be VERY different. The Wescotts, however, is an exceptional property at an exceptional price. Cozy, comfortable, well equipped, organized and just terrific. They have a book in the kitchen that is updated weekly with activities which I just thought was the BOMB! It was a pleasure to flip through the pages!! The only recommendation I would make would be to label the fireplace thermostats. It took us FOREVER to figure that out, esp. since the one on the main floor is in celsius - not fahrenheit. Fine for Canadians but not-so for us not-too-bright Americans. :)) (Nothing like a little self-deprecating humor!)

We stayed at the Wescott's for this past New Year's Eve weekend. It was fantastic! The condo was absolutely spotless when we walked in. It honestly looks like it was built yesterday! All the furniture is new and very tasteful. There is a washer and dryer. Fully stocked kitchen. There is also a huge private deck that looks over a really cute pond! The owner's did an amazing job with this condo! I can't begin to say how pleased we were with our stay. Considering what you will pay for a nice hotel room in Lake Placid this place is a steal! We will definitely stay here again and I would recommend this to anyone heading up to Lake Placid
