Not entirely a welcoming space, but clean and neat.

Location was nice, steep uphill climb but a nice view. It was very clean. Bed was nice, pantry was sufficient for a short stay, nice towels and big bathroom.

Whereas this is a decent accommodation, there is definitely a few things that can be improved or did not match our expectations. Based on the photos, it seems that there is a large common kitchen, one of the main reasons we booked this stay, because we wanted to cook for ourselves. However, when we arrived, we found it locked. When calling the owners and asking if we could use the kitchen, it was a cold and loud "no" with no explanation whatsoever. The kitchen seems to only be used when breakfast is served and locked the rest of the time. A waste of space and pictures should definitely not be posted as if you can actually use the space. The pantry in the room was fine, but only enough to prepare a sandwich or salad, nothing more. The room was also very dark, as the extra curtains did not open, so with the cold weather it was quite dark inside. The service was okay, it was unclear who was in charge as we saw more than four different people. Due to the language barrier, it was quite difficult to communicate, and the vibe was quite reserved and cold. Owners were only around during breakfast, otherwise you had to call. During our 4-night stay, we were not offered a change of towels or some additional toilet paper, we had to ask for that. This could definitely be solved by just having a closet with some additional towels and stuff that you can access as guest, so you do not have to call the owners for such things.

Highly recommend.

Host Jose was very kind and took time to talk with us. He suggested Quinta do Seixo when we asked for a Quinta recommendation. It was spectacular. Breakfast was great. A large variety of fresh fruits, breads, cereals, ham, cheeses, option of hot milk for the coffee, orange juice, etc. Beautiful home! Beautifully decorated. Sparkling clean. Lovely room. Very comfortable bed. There are drinks in the fridge available for purchase - such a good idea. Location: 15 minute walk from the train station, the last half is uphill.

Wonderful oasis of calm

A cool and tranquil oasis just a short walk from the centre . Fridge/mini bar was great and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Douro valley made it the perfect stay.

Beautiful and restful

Beautifully maintained property with lovely spacious well-equipped rooms. The large terrace at the back a part of the river and the mountains was beautiful as was the large dining and sitting area. The full Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit from the hosts farm. The hosts themselves were very gracious and obliging and allowed us not only to check out late but also to use the terrace and dining area as our bus out of Regua was not until 2 pm.

Everything was lovely although it’s a ten minute walk up from the train station

Lovely place, fab breakfast!

Beautiful large room with kitchen facilities in this lovely house, we loved the bathroom with the bathtub. The breakfast was great and very fresh, it was great to be able to sit out on the terrace for breakfast with lovely views over the river and town below. The terrace was fabulous to sit on at night too.

As there's no reception there was nobody to let us in when we arrived. We had to ring the owner. The property is up a steep hill, not a problem for us but for lesser able it could be hard work.

Very nice B&B in Peso

Very clean, quiet, spacious. Simple breakfast provided. Easy walk downhill to restaurants and river. Hosts very nice. Parking across the street. Peso is well-located to drive to many wineries.

The Pine House is beautiful. Exceptionally clean. Our room was a nice size. It was equipped with dishes, fridge and microwave. All dishes washed in dishwasher. The host was very helpful and friendly. The view from the deck was lovely .

It was a steep climb from the railway station. But this cannot be helped. All part of the adventure of travel

Wonderful for an overnight stay - better for a few days

Incredibly warm welcome to a very comfortable guesthouse. Everything is recently and stylishly refurbished to a high standard. The room was spacious, with lots of thoughtful extras and amenities (including dog bowls and a bed for our dog! You can prepare snacks and hot drinks and you just put the washing up in a bowl for the guesthouse to run through the dishwasher. The room was a very generous size, overlooking a quiet street. I would imaging that rooms at the back have stunning views, as the breakfast patio certainly did.

Very slightly difficult to identify exactly which building/doorway we were going to, but I called the property and they came out to find us.

Beautiful apartments house we a good value for money

Beautiful apartments house, new & updated decorated, clean. We got a nice large apartment with a balcony facing the valley& a partly river view. The host his a very friendly lady. We requests to have breakfast early then usually scheduled. When we went to the kitchen early in the morning the host waited to us in a beautiful common part of the house, and a various breakfast prepared for us.

We liked all, would stays there a few more days

It had a lovely view and lots of space. The breakfast was amazing. The whole place had a very stylish modern decor. There was also a very affordably priced mini bar selection with a good sampling of wines from the region.

Douro Visit

We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was fantastic- fresh fruit, meat, cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt and more! The view from the shared terrace is memorable. The apartment was incredibly clean and we had everything we needed. The place was decorated beautifully, including our room and the shared spaces.

The only slight negative was that there was a smell in the bathroom during our stay. I hate to mention it, but want to be honest.

This was a very comfortable and lovely home. The hosts were very nice and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and there were a lot of choices. The coffee pot in the room was a nice touch so we could have a cup or 2 before breakfast. Overall, a great experience.

We had a wonderful four days at the Pine House, overlooking the River Douro.

The Accomodation was simply fantastic. The views from both our balcony and the breakfast balcony stunning. Our hosts, who own the house, couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was all one could expect. A beautiful house, in a fantastic setting, that is spotlessly clean. What more could you want??
