Nestled in Folly Field, this charming house for $514 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Freshly Renovated -- Classic Carolina Beach House. We are the third house from one of the most beautiful and least crowded beaches on the island. You might get lucky and catch a glimpse of a sea turtle. This house was designed to entertain groups of friends & family and recently underwent extensive renovations. In August of 2019, a new deck was added. Enjoy a cook's kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and a built-in island with bar seating. There are two separate living areas, each with a new HD flat-screen television. The main living room has a 14-foot cathedral ceiling and original heart pine floors. The second living area comes complete with a kitchenette, which includes a full-size refrigerator, full-size sink, and microwave. Both kitchens are fully stocked with silverware, stoneware, appliances, glasses, cups, etc. The house sits on a large lot and boasts a fully fenced back yard. Multiple in-door and out-door seating areas, 2 decks, and a shaded patio area by the pool. Sit on the deck, watch the children in the pool and enjoy the sound of the surf. Wi-Fi is provided. We also provide beach chairs, a beach umbrella, water toys for the pool and multiple beach carts, with large wheels, so you can easily get your family and all necessary toys and supplies to the beach with ease. The property is in a quiet and secluded neighborhood with very little traffic. It is close to Publix, Whole Foods, Kroger and the Harris Teeter grocery stores. There are multiple restaurants nearby. We did not stay here. The property manager canceled our booking with 3 days notice. Vrbo was great and got us rebooked, but this booking seems to never have gone away. The manager double booked it. Thank goodness for Vrbo taking care of its customers and saving our vacation.

Property was what we expected from the listing. Nice pool, close to the beach and the right size for our family. We loved the bike trails and parks in the area.

Short walk to the beach. You can drive and park if you want but space is limited. Get there before 9:30 if driving. House could use a little TLC but no complaints except one section of fence needs to be repaired. Kids loved the pool! We had plenty of room and two fridges came in handy. Would stay there again.

Nice property in wonderful location. Pool was nice, plenty of room for all the family, kids and dogs to play. It did say the back yard was fully fenced but the dogs immediately were out and we noticed that a large section of the fence was missing. We blocked the area and it was fine for the rest of the week. Everything else was great.

Perfect location for littles that are active- dated but liveable. Only one tub but has several
high chairs and pack n plays. Short walk to beach is our favorite feature.
We’ve stayed here two years. Toilet in Jack and Jill bedroom and in kids bedroom both sluggish.

The beach house is nice but could use a few updates The information book on the property and gate codes needs to updated as this is very confusing (ie,book list 10am as check out time.Email from owners list 11am as checkout time) Overall a nice place and owners were very prompt answering all questions We enjoyed our stay😀

Close to Beach
We loved the proximity to the beach access. The house was large enough for our group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers. The porch and pool were large. The house isn't very well kept and the kitchen counters were not wiped down prior to our arrival. (No crumbs, just caked on something...... but I am pretty picky about that!) There were pool toys and beach toys, but they were mostly left outside and dirty. I would want the under the porch area to the pool to be completely cemented if I ever stayed again because it was quite sandy/dirty and hard to keep the kids out of. Two laundry rooms and two refrigerators is a huge plus!

Great location, ran down property
Plenty of room for a large family, close to the ocean and had a pool. Fenced in yard was a plus.
Doors were unlocked upon arrival, pool was dirty we cleaned out. On day 3 a team came at 7;00 am and we had no clue scared my wife and mom to death.
Mold on shower curtains that we replaced, tile floor in down stairs bathroom really bad and actually is a big safety hazard. Fence in back yard panel was down. We put back up so the dog wouldn’t get out. Toaster didn’t work. Inside needs painted and cleaned. Lots of old junk under porch charcoal grill, old charcoal on ground. Flat inflated toys. Broken beach chairs.
They do have a wagon that we used for the beach that we used that was nice and a couple beach chairs.
The area is nice this home needs some love then it’s good to go. I would not recommend at this time for the amount of money being charged and the Safey concerns

My main objection to this property was the communication. I could not use the link provided to make my second payment and no one could help me do so. Eventually I had to send a check in the mail to the property owner which goes against the guidelines. It felt unsafe and I'm not sure why I even had to pay fees if the website/service was useless. The owner then informed me just a couple weeks away from our stay that VRBO allowed me to book Sunday to Sunday but he only does Saturday to Saturday. This changed the whole vacation which we booked in February. My sister had to miss the first day due to work.
Arriving at the house I felt anxious that we would even get in and not disturb a different renter due to the tenuous nature of the scheduling and communication. We did get in and as other reviewers have said the house is in some disrepair and not the cleanest. We are flexible and willing to deal with the odd door handle or 3 falling off in our hands, the shattered glass table on the deck with glass below on the patio, and the broken shower in the master bedroom. Honestly ready to just look beyond that but when communicating these things to the owner, the exchanges were unsatisfying. He barely ever responded and when he did respond to the list of broken things he just announced a plumber would arrive in a couple days. An unvaccinated dude showed up randomly and we just elected to skip having the shower repaired.
Renting this place worked out overall in many respects but as someone who values clarity and communication I would never do it again.

I contacted VRBO and was told the bookings are at the discretion of the owner and so is the amount credited. I contacted Steve again and called him out about this. I told him he is scamming me. Again no response but he did FINALLY issue a credit for the full amount without any message or apology. As luck would have it we found another house on the beach with a pool. The house was clean, updated and had a great view of the ocean. As it turns out I should thank him for not renting to us because we found a much better place. Be careful about this guy and check out other homes to rent.

However, we noted several problems when we arrived late Saturday afternoon: plumbing issues with the master shower and drainage in the shared tub, broken deck gate, hardware problems with several door handles, trash and damaged lawn furniture laying around the yard. The gas grill was not cleaned nor the front deck swept of leaves and debris. Though we messaged the owner several times during the week, we did not receive a response until the day before we left. The property has great potential but the owner needs to make a personal visit to evaluate maintenance issues.

Summer family get-together

This property is obviously uncared for, with multiple needs both inside and outside the house. We were greeted with a broken door window pane secured by cardboard and painter's tape. The house was broom clean but dirty linens were left in the washer, the table and counter tops were dirty, the pool had not been cleaned, brush and trash were piled in a corner of the yard, dirty discarded items were left by the pool, and the grill was filthy. Two days into our stay, those issues of the window and pool were repaired. On the third day, the bathroom shared between two upstairs bedrooms stopped up--sink and tub, with sluggish toilet. The owner was responsive and had the plumber come. On the fifth day, the kitchen sink let loose and fell into the cabinet below it. For the rest of our stay we had to carry dirty dishes to a utility sink in the laundry area and get our water from that same source. We came expecting a quiet vacation time with our family and ended up with too many issues and having someone have to stay at home to wait on repair men. The proximity to the beach was an element we thought we were going to enjoy, but that was interrupted by having to deal with all of these situations. For the cost of this property, we definitely felt cheated with all of the problems. We feel consideration for some refund of that cost is warranted.

In need of LTC
A/C works well. Two nice refrigerators. Roomy. Nice beach wagon. Easy access & parking. Easy walk to beach. Short drive to restaurants & shopping. Nice size pool & outdoor furniture. No shortage of hot water. Living room furniture clean but very cheap & uncomfortable, i.e no support. Ample parking.
Property has not been well cared for. Slightly moldy smelling. Upstairs tub doesn't drain well. Dishwasher doesn't work properly. Floors covered in large gobs of animal hair. Mattress with very little support. Poor supply of kitchen pots. No working vacuum cleaner. No broom. Dangerously loose boards on upper deck. Dirt mound topped with construction debris in back side yard. Slow intermittent wifi. Foul odor in garbage disposal. Dog poop in back yard. Biting ants and hornets/wasps around pool area. Area between covered porch & pool is dirt, loose dirt with no grass and only a few stepping stones. Impossible for children to go from pool to house without getting their wet feet really dirty. Some of the bed covers look, feel & smell like second-hand rejects. Return air grate is just plain nasty. Crock pot ceramic insert was broken & glued back together. Owner says he will refund cleaning deposit. We shall see.

We rented the house very last minute. The house was not well kept. The house had a musty smell and the furniture was old and extremely dirty and worn. The location was perfect as it was a very short walk to the beach. The house had a pool which was very nice. The outside of the house needs serious paint job as does the interior. New furniture and paint would make this house fantastic!
The house worked for us since it was last minute, and the location was great, but overall we were not pleased with the price we paid.

Beautiful house!
This is a beautiful house, described perfectly in listing. Steve was quick to respond to my messages and was so nice. The house had so many nice features and beach equipment to use.
It is a quick little walk to the beach. Really a gem of a property. The two full refrigerators were a great bonus, with 9 adults staying for the weekend. Plenty of room for everyone and all of our things.

Golf getaway
6 picky guys on HHI to play golf for a few days. We found the place to be in a perfect location. Close to all the golf, close to the beach, close to dining. The house was clean and stocked with any convenience we needed for the few days we were there. We would definitely stay here again.

Some good; some bad
This property is in an excellent location (a 5-minute walk from house to ocean edge). It has a well-equipped kitchen and very nice pool. Unfortunately, there were a few negatives during our stay. As we reported during our first day there, the master bedroom TV did not work. A man came out to fix it and said he would have to return the next day to finish. He never returned. Also, he said that he would go to Target to purchase a beach cart to replace the unworkable one at the house. Again, he never returned. We also found the house dusty (don’t look under the master bedroom bed!) and rugs full of dog hair. We were led to believe someone would come out to do another cleaning, but, again, no follow-up action was taken. Although the pool is very nice, the surrounding yard is less so, full of weeds and generally in a run-down state. Two stars.

Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time and were able to spread out nicely in the five bedrooms. The house was very clean when we arrived! The house had a great kitchen - supplied with most everything you would need. Bring your own wii games for the wii console (with remotes) set up on the lower level.
It was a very short walk to the beach and riding bikes in the neighborhood was a piece of cake (we brought our own). The pool was ideal in the morning as it was shaded then and we went to the beach in the afternoon to catch the waves and the breeze and to build sand castles.The beach was all sand - no shells or rocks - very nice and not crowded. Evening pool time was nice and relaxing. There were plenty of beach chairs but bring your own beach umbrellas (the tent has a few too many broken poles).

Great vacation home!
This house was perfect for our family vacation. There was plenty of room for our 3 families. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of dishes and kitchen accessories. Having two refrigerators was a plus. Also, two washers and dryers made it very convenient. We loved the pool and the yard was perfect for playing corn hole. There was plenty of parking for four cars. The furniture was clean and comfortable. Being such a short walk from the beach was nice and the cart they provided made the trip to the beach even easier. We would certainly consider this house for a return trip to Hilton Head.
