Firelight River Cottage is a 2 bedroom/1bunkroom cottage located at the convergence of the Chestatee River and Town Creek in historic Dahlonega, Georgia. River rapids, expansive, level lawn, colorful flower gardens, and campfire rings are at your doorstep. The beautiful, pastoral setting is the perfect place to get away from it all (no neighbors within sight). It is nestled in the heart of North Georgia’s wine country on the Dahlonega plateau (5 wineries are within a 2-5 mile radius of the cottage). The property is a trout fisherman’s dream. It offers many easy, level entry points into the river which is stocked with rainbow, brook, & brown trout. The natural beach is an inviting spot for sunning and swimming. Three patios provide lovely areas for outdoor cooking and dining. Golfers may enjoy playing a round at Achasta, a Jack Nicholas signature course. Trail rides are available through nearby stables. Shops, museums, restaurants and groceries are just a 10 minute drive away in charming, historic Dahlonega. The fully stocked kitchen, HD TV and huge wood-burning fireplace make indoor living fun. Scenery was beautiful especially the river. Loved making a fire outside to keep warm! Enjoyed reading the guests books and learning about the fish.

Rainy day for Christmas enabled a wonderful time by the fire.

I enjoy taking in the outdoors and the sounds of the stream. Our dog Molly, enjoyed her walk through the leaves by the stream. On the cool nights we enjoyed the relaxing crackle and flicker of the fireplace.
The town square of Dahlonega was beautiful at Christmas time.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Helen GA and Dahlonega both very nice towns. House was in a good location between both places. House in a very private location, loved the nature surrounding the house.

What a wonderful cottage in the mountains! My husband and I so enjoyed this cozy place. It had everything you needed! The chairs by the creek were a perfect place to escape from the real world. The cottage was so welcoming and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the large nightstands in the main bedroom with a surge protector for all of your chargers. The hosts thought of everything!

Beautiful private setting! We visited all the fabulous vineyards within minutes of the cottage. The mountain views in the area were amazing as well as the Fall color along the river on the property. We absolutely loved our stay!

There wasn’t one thing about our stay that we didn’t love. The cottage is so charming and the grounds seemed limitless. There was a surprise around every corner.
The kitchen has everything that you need to make even the most gourmet meal. The bed was extremely comfy and the living room with the fireplace was ideal!
Unfortunately it was a little chilly to tube or swim, ( except the Polar Plunge I Did). So the next time we visit, we’ll make sure that it’s just a little warmer.
The hosts were extremely accommodating and lovely.
We give the whole experience a 10 out of 10!!!!!

The little cottage was perfect for us. The lot was perfect with the creek and large yard. The kids had fun trying to fish and the dog had fun playing in the water. We built a fire both nights and roasted marshmallows. The cottage was cozy with everything we needed. WE hope to come back some day!!

Members of our family stayed for a long weekend to attend a wedding at Vezelay Venue. The cottage is furnished nicely with everything you need! Lots of small touches. The yard/fire pit on the river bank is amazing. No cell service but the WiFi is excellent. It is conveniently located to the wineries and downtown Dahlonega. It is a 5 star property for sure!

What a delightful and relaxing little cottage. Sitting by the running stream and hearing the water run over the stones nearby creates a peaceful oasis. It feels like you have the forest to yourself, but you are within a few minutes of two of the area's finest wineries: Cavender Creek and Kaya. 10ish minutes from fun Dahlonega eateries like Shenanigans and Spirits Tavern. Helpful and responsive host. Will definitely try to book this cottage again!

We’ve stayed here multiple times. It’s perfect for visiting all the wineries within a couple of miles and visiting downtown Dahlonega. We enjoyed relaxing by the river as well.

our family had the best time ever.The people in this area are so friendly and location absolutely beautiful. The hosts were very helpful helping me find an amazing place to take my grandaughter horse back riding.We will definetly be coming back. Thank you Dave and Carol

Everything you thought you might need was provided. You only had to think of food.
A plus was that the AC worked very well during an extremely hot week. Never uncomfortable.
Owners responded quickly to any questions we had and were a pleasure to deal with.

We enjoyed our relaxing stay! Just as described with an abundance of necessities. We floated the river in the inner tubes from the basement, fished a little and every night around 8:45pm the fireflies came out! We loved that the wineries were all so close!

The cottage was adorable, just the right amount of space for the 4 of us. But, the property steals the show!!! So much space and the river is amazing! My only complaint was that you could hear cars from
the nearby road. After the second day, it didn’t really bother me. And really it was just the loud trucks and motorcycles you could hear. It wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but might be for others. Just thought I’d mention it.
Overall, great place and would definitely return.

The host was very kind in letting my son and me enter the property before 4:00, which we were very appreciative of their generosity. The property was perfect, a nice yard, river at the end of yard, several areas to sit and chat, and it was clean.
We enjoyed our daily walks in the woods with our dogs.

We absolutely loved staying at Firefly Cottage! The beauty of this place soothed our souls. The cottage is lovely, comfortable, and well-appointed. It was a real pleasure to be by the Chestatee River. David and Carol are top notch hosts!

All 4 of us enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Beautiful grounds well maintained and the river out back was perfect! My boys enjoyed fishing and just hanging outside. The sound of the river is so pretty. The inside of the cottage was just the right size for us and the bedrooms all worked out for us comfort wise. We love the small town of Dahlonega and enjoyed Helen as well. So much to do close by including tons of waterfalls to see! Would love to return someday!

The river cottage worked out great for our short stay to attend a wedding in the area. Close to everything but secluded on a large property right along the sparkling river. Plenty of room and all the amenities for a pleasant and comfortable visit. Huge yard area for walks with our small dog. Thank you for a terrific stay!

Had a wonderfully peaceful weekend at the cottage. Serenity was the order of the day and the property delivered. It felt like staying at my grandma’s in the most positive way.

It's not far from Atlanta, the cabin was very clean and organized, you can find lots of cooking utensils/condiments and towels. The river is very close, beautiful and peaceful. Great for a family weekend, we'll be back soon!

We enjoyed a lovely extended weekend here. It is very calming to sit by the river, or walk along the path that runs next to it.
The home is situated on a very spacious lot and very private.
Dahlonega is close by and we had a lovely afternoon there.
The home itself is clean, very comfortable and very well stocked with everything you will need.
David and Carol were super hosts.

Great place to stay on the river! Fireplace was great on the cold nights iwhile we were there. The location was excellent allowing visits to the vineyards and UNG to see our daughter while there! Highly recommend! We will be back

Loved our time in this cottage. The location is great - on the river and close to many wineries but no direct neighbors. We caught a trout off the back of the property, enjoyed a campfire each night, visited several wineries, did some antiquing, ate good food that was close by, and slept well in the comfortable beds. We’ll be back!

We were in Dahlonega to attend a friend's wedding so we were only had the weekend. We really enjoyed our stay. We wished we could have stayed longer. The sound of the river flowing when you walked outside was the most relaxing sound ever! Hope to come back and stay longer.
