Wattura Resort & Spa

We only stayed for one night, but overall it was a very enjoyable stay. The staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive from the moment we arrived. Our room was stunning, incredibly spacious and really well laid out. The children also loved the splash park and water slides, which were a brilliant addition for families.

The dining experience did not quite match the rest of the resort. Despite being promoted as family-friendly, the restaurant felt more formal and upmarket than it needed to be, while the food itself was disappointing. The bar area also lacked atmosphere. Given the price, the overall food and drink experience did not feel like particularly good value.

Our stay at Wattura Resort & Spa was truly magical from start to finish. The hotel is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are beyond beautiful. The view was so breathtaking that it looked like a wallpaper rather than something real. Every corner of the property reflects luxury, comfort, and attention to detail. I stayed with my three children, and they absolutely loved the resort. Their favorite activity was exploring the beautiful grounds looking for squirrels and other small animals. The water slides were also a huge highlight of our stay—they spent most of their time there having fun, and I felt completely comfortable letting them enjoy themselves independently thanks to the safe, family-friendly environment. What made our experience even more special was the kindness and professionalism of the team. We requested a room upgrade, and the General Manager graciously accommodated our request, which we truly appreciated. This thoughtful gesture made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. The service, atmosphere, facilities, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. Everything felt effortless, elegant, and luxurious. We left with unforgettable memories and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a truly exceptional stay in Sri Lanka. We will definitely be back.

The location was excellent, right on the beachfront, which made the stay very enjoyable. I had an early morning flight, so I couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but the team thoughtfully prepared a takeaway for me, including a very nice chicken sandwich. A small gesture, but it made a great impression.

No TV in the room upstairs

Staff was very friendly and part of the Hotel has a nice charm and the outer areas seem maintained, the food in the restaurant was good too. The room in general as well.

The price is horrendously high for the outdated interior of the room, with lot of stains and it didn’t seem well maintained which gave the feeling of beeing ripped.
