About this house rental
Located in Tanque Verde, this attractive house for $127 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Fully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom Santa Fe Style hillside casita, with incredible views of the mountains and the city of Tucson. The guesthouse is fully furnished, including a clothes washer and dryer, and is located in the foothills of the Catalinas, at the base of Mount Lemmon. Our guesthouse is located on a three acre property, is surrounded by Saguaros, Ocotillo, and desert wildlife, and has a private patio with a private hot tub. Arizona National is the closest golf course and is only a 5-10 minute drive from our casita. The closest shopping center is 5 miles (10 minutes) away, according to Google Maps. The drive up to Mount Lemmon starts only minutes away and leads to hiking, cycling, mountain biking, camping, fishing, scenic overlooks, and skiing (depending upon the season and the weather). By car, downtown Tucson is 36 minutes away, and The University of Arizona is 29 minutes away (both according to Google Maps). The guesthouse is designed to accommodate up to 2 people using the king size bed, but we may be able to accommodate a couple with a small child, as well. A dream rental; great hosts, great view, quiet and beautiful.

Since we work remote, we have taken several "workations" where we stay, play, and work for a week or more. Our week at this casita was a workation success! The Wi-Fi signal was strong and dependable for work, and we enjoyed the views, hot tub, and easy access to trails and the city while we played. Next time we find ourselves headed to Tucson for work, play, or both, we hope this casita is available.

Michael and Alejandra were the perfect hosts. No issues with communication in any way. Alejandra greeted us when we arrived, we met Michael on the day that we left. The casita was immaculate with all the amenities described with a well equipped kitchen. Located next to their home, it was a very private setting, exactly what we wanted/needed. The location is very quiet with lots of wildlife, especially in the morning with a beautiful view of the sunsets. The casita is located close to the base of the Catalina mountains with a short drive to Mt. Lemmon (about 30 degrees cooler there). We're already discussing a return visit because we loved it there.

My wife and I just spent a week at Alejandra and Michael’s Casita. The short version - for a couple, this is a fantastic rental across the board. This place is a sanctuary.
We spend a lot of time visiting the Tucson area, often for short stays. Always for outdoors adventures. Our favorite rental has been a Casita only a few miles from Alejandra and Michael’s We have now found a new favorite, especially for longer stays. The Casita is spotless clean, extremely well built, has a fresh new feel to it. It is well laid out, provisioned, decorated and very comfortable. The views are fantastic, both day and night. The patio is fantastic for relaxing and enjoying those views. The Spa is a great feature and so relaxing and restorative after a day of hiking, running trails or climbing. The multi-headed shower which includes a rain shower is quite enticing as well. Its a short jaunt to the road leading up into Mt. Lemmon. There are easy routes out to the south and west for exploring that direction. And getting into town, or its surrounds is quite convenient.
Alejandra meet us when we arrived, even those it was late into the day and was delightful. We ran into Michael one of the evenings and had a great chat for a bit. They are both wonderful hosts and made sure we knew they would be reached for anything that might come up. For us nothing did. Everything was as good as one could want.
It would be hard to beat this Casita for peace, solitude, and recovery from everyday madness.

The description of the casita, the location and the views are all very accurate. It doesnt detail the experience you can expect though. This home ( and it feels like a home) is tastefully and comfortably appointed…both inside and out. It was a wonderful experience to grill dinner overlooking the city, enjoy wine on the patio and finish the evening with a relaxing soak in the (very clean) hot tub all while taking in the constellations above.
Notably the hosts, Michael and Alejandra, are wonderful people, always available and are there to make your stay as pleasant as can be.
I’m already planning my return trip!

Had an amazing time staying at Alejandra and Michael's casita. Alejandra welcomed us with a home grown grapefruit from their tree, which was lovely. Perfect, peaceful little get away spot!

Great, quiet hideaway in the foothills. My favorite neighborhood in the Tucson environs. Within easy reach of the city but also close to prime hiking trails.

This property is a little bit out of town, so be prepared to do some extra driving if staying here. The view is lovely and there is a hot tub that is very pleasant and has a great view at night. It is perfect for a couple. Very quiet and peaceful. Well furnished. The owners have a separate house on site and are very helpful. Great stay!

We stayed for a week and wish we stayed longer! Beautiful and comfortable house, private and on a very quiet road. Amazing views. The location was perfect, right down the street from the Catalina mountains byway with plenty of hiking and critters to see. Only 15 min from Saguaro national park east which we really enjoyed. As others have said the hot plate worked great, we cooked most of our meals at home and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The hot tub was great as well. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back again in a heartbeat.

This was a perfect place for my wife and I to spend our 3rd anniversary! The casita was amazing, clean, huge bedroom, washer and dryer, incredible views. The hot tub was great and we used the grill a few times too. The location is also perfect if you like to do outdoors activities like hikes. We went on some incredible hikes, also drove up Mt Lemmon highway which had great views (also about 30 degrees cooler). We also went horse back riding in the desert and we got to see the sunset from Saguaro National Park. The host were pretty much perfect. Alejandra and Michael were super helpful but also we felt like we were the only ones there unless we had a question. Overall no complaints just great memories! We have never been to Arizona before but we will definitely be back!

Everything about this property is perfect. Beautiful views, lovely casita, tastefully furnished, super comfy bed, close to supermarkets and restaurants, it's on the road to Mt. Lemmon, etc etc etc And last but not least, the hosts are very pleasant! 10/10!!

We had a wonderful time. House was the perfect location for us to hike Mt Lemon and Saguaro National Park. Views are out of this world. Alejandra and Michael are great hosts and enjoyable visiting with. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Will be back.

Best VRBO Ever
Escaping the heat of Texas, we planned some time in New Mexico, but had to adjust at the last minute. Luckily the Casita was available and thanks to our terrific host we were able to check in on short notice. This Casita is an oasis in the desert! It is beautifully appointed, with fantastic desert views and being at the base of Mt. Lemmon, only a spectacular drive to the beautiful, cool, forest. Our hosts are outstanding and we plan to return this Fall. We can’t say enough great things about our favorite place in Arizona. PS, the shower is amazing!!

Stunning scenery, excellent location in the foothills of Mt. Lemmon and truly exceptional hosts. Our first visit to the casita was in April and after being back home for two weeks, we wanted to make the 1000 mile drive back to enjoy it again! We lucked into an available week and it was every bit as wonderful as the first time!
