Set in a unique historic property with a fascinating past. You can stroll the grounds and explore the building, which is a plus after a long day of driving. Gracious and welcoming staff. Spacious, comfortable room. Very quiet and calm - so nice! Filling breakfast. Our overnight stay felt a bit like a mini retreat.
A good number of restaurants in Onieda are closed by dinner time on Sunday. We brought our own picnic dinner and ate in ‘the lounge’ so problem solved.

This was an exceptional experience. It was basically a hotel room in a museum. The house was incredible with its 16 feet ceilings. Our bathroom was huge and the beds were comfortable. We had the twin bed suite. The gardens were beautiful as well and the trees were so majestic.
The grab and go breakfast didn’t align with the rest of the experience. The disposable cereals boxes and paper plates were weird in the beautiful wooden dining area. I think they could put out an equally simple breakfast, but without all the paper products.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Overall it was good value considering the location and price etc.
I would have liked the option to lock the bedroom door from the inside, the staff knew the code to each bedroom and it was impossible to lock the door from the inside at night.
