My mom, sister and I had a wonderful time. It was important that the house we choose have a bed and bathroom on the main floor so this was perfect! This house is so cute and cozy and in a great location to many restaurants and attractions. The beach is steps off the back porch and the views were awesome. We were there at the beginning of October with the tail end of TS Ian, and that did not dampen our trip. We hung out, worked on puzzles and watched the waves. The kitchen had everything we needed. I had never rented linens before and Blair was awesome to help me with this prior to arrival so we had no trouble with the linen rental. We did leave a hair dryer for the next guests in case you forget one. Blair was awesome and super helpful. I had informed her we might be late due to flight issues (due to Ian) and she brought snacks for our arrival. (So sweet!) I would highly recommend this place to stay!

Such a wonderful historic beach cottage. Love the vintage vibe. So cozy, quaint and comfortable. This was our second stay. Our first stay was last November for our anniversary. Very romantic. This time we came with friends and had a blast. The best part is the wrap around porch that faces the ocean. I woke up every morning watching the sunrises and the waves crashing on the beach. We already have a reservation for this coming November for our anniversary again. We love this place that much! The host was so welcoming, sincere and kind hearted. She even gave us a little gift while we were there. The location is fabulous. Besides being right on the beach, you are in walking distance to eateries, shops and Nags Head Fishing Pier which has a great Tiki Bar and Grill. I highly recommend this booking this rental.

My husband and I and our 3 daughters loved every bit of our stay. To quote our daughters "their favorite beach rental". The home has so much character and is a classic beach home. The views of the ocean are great, way better than the pictures can share. How it was decorated in every room also added to the overall charm and feel of the stay. Kitchen was well stocked. Three of the bedrooms also had great ocean views and all were very comfy. The wrap around deck was awesome! As the ad mentions, literally just steps to the beach and easy walks to many restaurants. Very convenient location overall to many shops, grocery stores, parks and other attractions. Blair was super friendly and offered many local tips. Hope to visit again!

We enjoyed our stay at Sand Joy immensely. Would have loved to have a bit larger kitchen with a dishwasher, and to have known that it is right next to the public beach access, but it is a cute place overall.

This was not our first stay at this most special cottage. It always feels like coming home. Blair is a gracious host and our beach side stay was was everything we hoped for!

Honestly, our best family beach vacation ever! The property is exactly as described and has everything you need and nothing more; which IMHO is what made the trip. Thank you Blair for your hospitality and the opportunity to create such wonderful memories for our family!

The owner checked on us to ensure we were okay given the tremendous Nor'easter that arrived as we did. We cooked in one night and had everything we needed. It was lovely and we all agreed we would stay here again!

My family vacationed on the Outer Banks for decades, but time and distance have made that tough to do nowadays. I booked this property a year in advance hoping to entice family for a visit, and it worked. This home was comfortable, and everything I remember from the Nags Head vacations of my youth, with a better view. If you're looking for an old time OBX experience, look no further. Blair was friendly and communicative and there were no issues at all. Highly recommend!

Perfect location, right on beach and can walk to multiple restaurants with good food. Grocery Store very close. We had a great time and we’re very happy with how clean everything was upon arrival. Would definitely recommend!

This is the quintessential beach cottage. Step out the back door into the sand and just a few more steps to the beach. Blair is super to work with. Hope to return next year!

Couldn’t ask for a better ocean view seaside cottage! Unobstructed sunrises from the front porch rockers were exquisite. The surf was just footsteps away. Restaurants within walking distance . A fabulous house for enjoying all that Nags Head has to offer.

Lovely, comfy, well-equipped beachfront cottage. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves and observing the activities of crabs at night with the aid of our flashlights. Everything we needed for a week of much-needed R&R was at our fingertips. Thanks, Blair.

We just returned from a wonderful week in Nags Head at this gem of a beach cottage. It is right on the beach, easy beach access for grandparents especially (only about 4 steps down from the porch to to flat sand to walk a short distance to the beach/water). The cottage is wonderful and just as described (note to bring your own linens- which we prefer anyway). We loved our stay- many memories of great food, sunrises, visiting with family, and the cottage is in an awesome location to be a home base for site seeing. We brought our bikes and there are nice flat streets nearby for biking. Blair, the owner, is quickly receptive if you have any questions and very friendly.

The property was fantastic. It was clean with all necessary amenities. Having the beach in the backyard really spoiled us. We would definitely come back!
