About this house rental
Nestled in Waupaca, this charming house for $531 per night is a great option for your next break. This beautiful home is located in the very quiet Covered Bridge subdivision of Waupaca. The main floor has recently under gone a major remodeling and is very modern. The entire first floor was completed in 2020. The home is Just moments from all the outdoor activities and night life but yet is incredibly peaceful with no city lights. The lot is heavily wooded and on the Waupaca River. Come, relax, fish or have a fire next to the river. There is a fire pit and a supply of firewood onsite. It is a 5 bedroom home. The master bedroom has a king bed overlooking the river. The master bathroom got a complete remodeling this spring and is just beautiful. The other 2 bedrooms both upstairs have queen beds. One of which has a view that overlooks the river. There is a fourth bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed in it. Perfect for the elderly traveling in your group. The 5th and final bedroom located in the basement and it has a double bed. There is additional sleeping in the basement (which is a partially finished common area) this area has a double bed and a single bed. There’s a brand new, 2021, Hot tub on the deck along with an outdoor bar. 3 Kayaks available upon request. House includes WIFI and all the amenities of a fully furnished home. Pets are allowed for a small fee. I did add a large fenced in area for them last fall. It’s completely in the woods so is very shaded and comfortable. Though the house can sleep up to 13 guests, the listed rate is based on an 8 person occupancy. Between 9-13 guests there is an extra guest fee of $35 per person per night. This was the 23rd year of our annual girls weekend, and we couldn't have been happier with this beautiful house in Waupaca! We usually never go back to the same place twice, but the girls all want to come back next year. Loved enjoying our morning coffee in the hot tub, seeing the beautiful deer frolicking around the river. Conveniently close to town for any last-minute needs. We don't travel lightly as we like to cook a lot and do crafts, etc, and there was so much extra space to store our belongings. Everything was spotless upon arrival. Bonnie was so easy to work with and responded quickly with any questions we had. We loved having bonfires alongside the river every night. Highly recommend this place and hoping we're able to come back next year.

Property was gorgeous. Went in fall with the changing colors and falling leaves. Hot tub and fire pit were used often. Plenty of space for all of us to eat, play games and watch tv together. Was so nice to have the river right in the back yard. Lots of things to do for all ages. Everyone had a great time. Owner was nice and very responsive if we had any questions.

Stayed with my family for a week and would definitely come back. House is great for large families with plenty of room to relax and maneuver. Many bedrooms, all clean and comfortable. Patio and back yard are amazing. Patio is huge with a good grill and chairs you dont want to get up from! There's also a rather large fenced in dog run which came in handy. Owner of property was easy to work with, no issues. Property feels and sounds remote but amenities are all within a 5 minute drive. Hot tub was clean and easy to use. If i had to criticize anything, it would be small things but nothing that would prevent me from staying here again. Many thanks, Bonnie, for trusting us with yiur property!

This house was beautiful and beautifully located on the Waupaca River. We hadn’t had a family vacation in over 5 years and this place was perfect for our growing family and older parents. Bonnie filled us in on where everything was and was so much fun to talk with. We wish her the best of luck as she continues working on the house!

The location of the home and exterior finishes were as advertised. The interior however, was another story. The issues we experienced were, general uncleanliness throughout. Misrepresentation of the facilities ( portable ac only in 2 bedrooms, leaving the rest of the house very uncomfortable), basement dank and so humid, it was unusable for any purpose. (the beds were actually damp), urine stained mattresses. Most windows having “shears” if window covers at all, no iron available. Bedroom cabinet door literally fell off in our hands. Black mold on ceiling in dining room. Wall light switch with no cove, liquid ant baits on kitchen counter with in reach of small hands. Broken ice maker noted within hours of arrival with a casual apology. We were also asked day of to finish drying sheets that were left in washer. Perhaps owner needs to allow more time between rentals. Bedding provided was minimal.
Towards the end of our stay, the repetition of the short comings became so often that I realized I needed to photograph some of these issues. Those photos are available if needed. Because I had rented the house for a family reunion, with some members traveling over 750 miles, with my two Daughters, their Husbands and 4 Grandchildren, the joy of being together was the only thing that saved my turning around and walking out the first day.
Considering the representation of “air conditioning” when there was very little, the unusable condition of the basement, and the health hazard presented by the mold, and the many other issues we encountered, I feel my family should receive some prorated refund for our stay. I was going to post this on the internet, but decided to go through VRBO before taking that step.

Nice, relaxing spot for getaway
Enjoyed the home with all the first class amenities and the location is great...feels like you are out in the woods but only blocks from everything you need. Peaceful river full of little trout and the kids enjoyed the fishing. Huge deck was perfect gathering spot for entire family and the hot tub was a nice way to end the day. Bonnie was also a very pleasant and helpful host. This is a great place for a family gathering.

Nice open space layout of home, allowed our large group to be together without feeling like we were on top of each other. Bedrooms nice size and spread out enough for little ones to be in bed while adults hung out without feeling like we needed to be extra quiet. Hot tub was nice addition! Bonnie was a very curteous host - answered questions in a timey manner. Had a great time!
