This newly painted lovely 2 bedroom cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind with friends and family while visiting The Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas. Located in River Plantation, just minutes from the parkway in Pigeon Forge, and 15 minutes from Gatlinburg, this unit offers paved roads all the way to the cottage with no mountain roads to traverse and would be considered motorcycle friendly only at the riders' discretion. This 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom unit that sleeps 6, is all one level. There are 17 steps to reach the main level, with parking underneath. You will find a fully equipped kitchen with dining for 6, a living area with a gas fireplace, queen sofa sleeper, 2 recliners, and a flat-screen TV. There are 2 Queen bedrooms. 1 of the bedrooms has a flat-screen TV and a private bath with a jetted tub and a combination shower and bathtub. The other bedroom has private access to the back deck and a flat-screen TV. There is an additional shared bath with a combination shower and bathtub. The back deck offers patio furniture, a picnic table, and charcoal grill. There is also a porch swing under the cottage. Cottage needs updating! Carpet stains in both bedrooms. Live roach found in one bedroom! Online pics are very deceiving.

Overall, it is a decent place. Neighborhood is nice and in a great location, yet out enough to be quiet. The house is pretty nice, for the most part. I feel like people go to VRBO for a reason (at least I do), and that’s to avoid the use of a rental company and deal directly with an owner. Rental companies are all over VRBO now. I will say our interaction with the rental company was fine. They were responsive and fine to work with. What I hated were the signs all over the house talking about the extra fees we would incur for every misstep or action outside of their required procedures. $25 for leaving dishes in the sink…$25 per every half hour past check out time (when they have a sign that says they don’t guarantee the house will be ready by check in and you have to deal with it if it isn’t), have to pay the HVAC service if you set the temp to low, etc. Also, we cooked while we were there and there was nothing in the house outside of pots, pans, dishes and a little silverware. I understand it’s not there responsibility to keep everything fully stocked, but I’m talking about stuff like coffee filters, salt and pepper, matches or a lighter to light the grill, etc. Every rental I’ve stayed in before has provided that stuff. Again, a pretty decent place and I would likely stay there again, but I will make sure I will either pack my entire kitchen with me or opt to eat out.

we could not get the tv in the living area to work and all outlets in both bathrooms did not work but it really was not an issue

Nice place located right off main road
Awesome. I would recommend replacing the chairs on balcony because both are broke. Also, maybe providing a few more blankets for people utilizing pull out couch.

Very clean and great location. I was under impression it was on the river, but it is not. Have to walk under a couple other houses, about100 or so yards. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Vacay
This was my husband and I anniversary trip. Everything was wonderful, except the wasp nest near the front door along with other bugs. Didn't stop us from having a great time thought. Loved the Lake nearby as we fish as well. The location, people, restaurants all convenient and nice. Will definitely book again.

River Breeze
We had two problems with the property which we reported to the property manager who assured us the problems would be taken care of. The big shocker was the price. It was listed as $Xx/night but by the time they added the owners fee, cleaning, THREE taxes (with no explanation of what they were) and a damage fee which was not refundable plus a service fee and a service charge our nightly cost was almost double. The website needs to explain that all of these
fees will be added to your account.

Comfortable but Worn
The property was fine, but there are some obvious issues. Neither the sheets or the mattress cover in the master bedroom fit the mattress properly and kept coming off. The large rug in the living room was heavily frayed on one corner which indicates it has been there a long time. The carpets in both bedrooms were dirty. The second bedroom had a large dark stain on the bathroom side of the bed approximately 12 inches a cross oval shaped. The master bedroom carpet had several dime and nickel size spots on the carpet as you enter the room. The dvd player in the living room did not have any wire connecting it to the TV. Both dvd players were pretty much antiques using a three wire AV connection versus HDMI connections which are now the standard. I don't think the second bedroom had a dvd player. Newer basic dvd players can be purchased for about $50 at Walmart and all three TVs should have one. The remotes for the existing dvd players did not work, probably need batteries replaced. You are renting a property out which means people with luggage. There was no where in the bedrooms to place luggage off the floor so we used three kitchen chairs in the master to get our luggage off the floor. When standing at the cabin entry door with sunlight behind you there was considerable dust buildup under the vinyl recliner nearest the kitchen. You should occasionally vacuum/sweep under the furniture. The main bathtub was draining slowly should be cleaned and checked for hair buildup. The kitchen was okay except only two teaspoons in the drawer. There were only two of us so it wasn't an issue, but a family with children eating cereal for breakfast it would be an inconvienience.

Great location.clean neighborhood.quiet.great parking you won’t get door dings on your car.i paid a cleaning fee for nothing.its filthy.the floors were not swept.dried food on kitchen table.floor is only swept right thru the middle.very dirty everywhere else.the ac was fine but heat pump was pathetic it would not keep up on two nights was 68 in house one morning and my wife was blaming me.i didn’t pay attention to description of rental but there is no internet.my fault.if you’re like me and assume because it’s 2019 DONT.i have stayed at rentals way to much .this is the very 1st I’ve complained .im sorry but this one was not enjoyable at all .

Staying at Bear Camp
Everyone at check in was very friendly and helpful. In addition to the great price for 5 nights stay we received discounts on the shows we wanted to see. The property was very nice, fully furnished down to coffee filters and it was in a quiet neighborhood. The only negative I would say is the carpet in the bedrooms needed cleaning and the rest iof the floors were hardwood and squeaked when you walked on them. The property has a lot of steps going in and out so if you have bad knees or joints maybe ask for another property.

Nice place to stay
There were only a few things that could use fixing/updated. The carpets had several stains on it. Both of the porches had nails sticking up. Otherwise the place was very nice and comfortable for my family. Also wifi would be a good addition. We have a business that I needed to take care of a few things but wasn't able to do it at the cabin.

Close enough to the river to feel a breeze...
Check in was nice, got to the property in a timely manner and things seemed ok for the price. Could use a few minor repairs.. carpet was dingy in a few spots, the shade in one of the rooms was missing a couple of blinds and there was a crack in the toilet seat but it was better than staying in a motel. When all is said and done we would probably use VRBO again but maybe try a different rental. Thanks

Love the location. Quite and peaceful.
The staff was great. They worked with us when the airlines cancelled our flight causing a one day delayed arrival. Tanya was very helpful on the phone and sent me two emails for the process of late arrivals after I deleted the first. Would gladly recommend their services. The house we rented had issues but nothing other than cosmetic. Blinds were missing or damaged. Hard wood floors had previous water damaged and were bowed up. The large rug in the living room was frayed on the corners from apparently the vacuum. Even though there were blinds the house could use some curtains. The satellite tv was awful. The channel selections were insufficient on poor weather days you were searching for something suitable to watch couldn't even get a local college football game on it because it lacked any sports channels. We have stayed in this neighborhood at least four other times over the last fifteen years. Loved the area it was real quite at night and safe enough to sleep with the doors and windows open to enjoy the cool fall night. Would gladly use Bear Camp reality and cabin rentals again in the future.

Awesome and Relaxing
Everything was great. Felt like home. Big enough for everyone yet not to big. Love the swing downstairs and the back porch upstairs. Peace and Quiet. Loved it.
