Perfect little break away

We loved it all, it was very clean and tidy so shout out to the housekeepers as your doing a fab job, well decorated, modern and well equipped with everything we needed. The view from our room was our favourite we had a lake view room and even had sheep and cows literally outside the window it was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful hotel in perfect location.

Situated in rhe heart of Grasmere with free private parking surrounded by breath taking scenery. Lots of fell walks from the door both easy and more challenging. The hotel has beautiful gardens with outdoor seating areas looking down towards the lake. The hotel itself has been recently refurbished to a very high standard in a modern country style. We stayed in classic Lodge room which is just over the garden from the main hotel and it was modern and immaculate with a porch to hang wet coats and walking boots. The main hotel also has this facility. In the main hotel there is a restaurant and bar withe a good selection of drinks. There are lots of comfy seating areas where you can sit and relax to enjoy a drink or a coffee. The restaurant is table service for both breakfast and dinner and both both menus offer lots of choice cooked in the open plan kitchen where you can watch the chefs cook. The food was of high standard using quality ingredients. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We can highly recommend this hotel and plan to return.

There was absolutely nothing to fault at all everything was superb.

Overall very good perhaps the Restaurant Manager should go on a Customer friendly course.

The Breakfast was excellent.

Everything was done via an App. I go on holiday to get away from having to use a mobile phone. Even the menu had to be picked up with an app, I find this very clinical and completely unacceptable. On an evening meal I ordered the Roast Beef it was not up to standard and very tough and chewy, when I complained the restaurant manager said would I like a sharper knife, I do not accept this attitude from a hotel of this standard. On the plus side the ladies who served and took orders were excellent

Brilliant stay

The overall experience was amazing. Hotel staff is really nice. Breakfast was brilliant and the location is amazing as well.

We loved the gardens and the view. The visit brought back many happy memories for us, and made new.

The breakfasts were excellent. The location was perfect. The staff were all very pleasant and obliging. On the whole a very enjoyable experiance.

We loved room 2, but it was a bit noisy in the night with what sounded like a macerator or heating switching on and off.

Four nights at a lovely hotel serving top notch food in the heart of The Lake District.

The hotel is located on the edge of Grasmere village. It is in a good position for walkers. We parked the car and it never moved for the four days we stayed there. The food was the best I have tasted; always full of flavour and well presented. We planned to eat out in the evening, but stayed at the hotel as the food was so good. The lounge and restaurant had a very contemporary feel. It was light with no clutter and they played chilling-out music at low volume. Most of the guests were elderly and seemed to love the place. The kitchen was open for all to see, in a trendy way. The staff were mainly from Europe and were faultless. There was a boot room with heated pegs for footwear, which we found to be very useful.

There was nothing major that I did not like. The room had two single beds pushed together to make one giant bed, which was rather big for the room, leaving little space to get around. The shower screen was a daft design with no seal and allowed water to escape onto the floor. There was no vegetarian fry-up option for breakfast. Though they did have pancakes with yoghurt and advocado and toast, which were both excellent.
