Comfy room with an excellent shower. Well looked after communal kitchen, that is well stocked with all the equipment you could need. A filling breakfast is included which is a nice bonus for a hostel. Walking distance to everything is Santa Elena and a handy transfer will take you to Monteverde for a reasonable price. Very friendly staff and volunteers.
The kitchen can feel small and congested, especially given the relatively early closing time meaning there is a rush at dinner.
Rooms aren't serviced, meaning the small bathroom bin isn't emptied throughout your stay (I'm sure if you asked they'd be happy to help.
There is no social opportunities to meet other traveller and all the advertised activities require significant spend with third parties.

The location and value for money
I was charged twice for one room and they haven't refund me yet. They've sent me to a different address to ask for a refund instead of fixing their mistake and provide a decent customer service
