Parador de Vielha

The hotel is clean and nice.

The dining area is too cold (at least during the evenings). My logic says if it is cold outside-let’s keep it warm inside and vice versa. But maybe it is just me.

Breakfast is amazing, wide variety of fruits, cold meats and breads. Hot dishes are available on demand. Staff is one of the best part of the breakfast experience. Good for Parador! The lounge around the central fireplace is cozy and welcoming.

We usually don't include breakfast in our stays, like to go out and find a new place each time. Not this time. I remembered breakfast was outstanding and they didn't disappoint.

Location, style, spaciousness, facilities, lovely rotunda restaurant. The downstairs ( -1 ) lounge area with central fire place and beautiful stone floors and simple yet elegant furniture in natural coulours and materials is wonderful! Don’t ever change it. We come back year after year for this.

That a few features have disappeared - fx fitness room that my daughter liked; SPA was a bit cold; outdoor jacuzzi did not work

Well furnished large hotel with restaurant offering fabulous 360 degree panoramic views.

The hotel video shows that one activity is star gazing, and one expects perfectly dark skies in such an undeveloped and mountainous location. In fact the place is floodlit on all sides making night turn to day. The building is a large modern block. The rural tranquility is shattered and it is impossible to see any stars at all. The restaurant menu was limited and the portions of food that we ordered were snack sized even though charged as main courses. The swimming pool was empty and being painted at the time, so the fresh mountain air was pungent with paint fumes on our second day.
