Like every year I spend a great week at Hotel Līva. My experience was very good, the restaurant helped me with additional needs, staff was friendly and was a great value for the money!
However I do have some comments, the rooms need 3 things:
1. towel dryers in the bathroom;
2. better socket locations, so they would be next to beds;
3. a fridge would make the room much nicer.

I think this is the best budget-friendly hotel in Liepāja. Breakfast at the hotel is truly amazing, with a large and delicious variety of food and great coffee. The location of the hotel is ideal to reach everything in the city center on foot.
Historical presence can be felt in the rooms, while some may like it, it feels that the design of the rooms could be improved (bathrooms, noise suppression through walls)

We enjoy Liva as a hotel and have stayed before.
Breakfast is lovely over all, staff are good, surprisingly comfortable beds was a relief.
Overall hotel is good.
Super Central location when you need it is perfect.
Breakfast area had kids corner to keep my 4 year old occupied.
This time dissatisfactory- and therefore not value for money was the fact that our room had a major issue with toilet. Button was stuck and we had to close the supply valve with nonstop running water t avoid toilet overflowing as well as to be able to sleep at night, as we could not solve the button, we then could not flush all loos. We had told reception at night and told cleaners upon leaving who said they will report during the day.
Also, for staying 4 people (2 children, 2 adults), there were not enough teas left 4 packets of varied type, but just black tea. No mini milks or coffees either. TV was hard to figure out, no instructions. we struggled and it was not working at first. after a while we managed to solve it ourselves.
Price we felt was unfair for such below budget stay experience with loos.
Lastly: our children were super-looking forward to making their own waffles and my son who was poorly and would only try waffles, both were really disappointed that it "tasted weird".. so for more suitable taste buds, I would highly recommend that waffle batter is kept plain as this time it had cottage cheese in it, which is not to everyone's taste. Thank you otherwise, it was lovely as expected. Yet children should be discounted towards breakfast as they eat so little or in my son's case - did not eat at all.
