The location was pretty much perfect. We were met locally and shown to the property, with grocery and restaurants indicated. The property was well equipped, comfortable, well air conditioned. Simply, a nice place to be

The location is brilliant. Great transport links but also easy to walk everywhere as well. The local square round the corner is a treat, lovely bars to watch the world go by. Not busy at all.
The actual apartment is beautiful, with the sound of the boats going past and the gorgeous marble staircase and painted ceilings. Just how you would envisage a Venetian apartment to be like.

The location of this building in Venice is excellent! It gave us easy access to the entire city. Be prepared for lots of walking through narrow cobblestone alleyways and up and down steps over all the canals! The building is historic and has no elevator (up 2-1/2 flights of stairs with luggage) but it did have AC. The apartment was spacious with a living room/dining room and compact kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a private bathroom. The streets can be tricky to navigate, but our host, Francesco, gave us good directions from the water taxi so we made it without any trouble. He was there to meet us and showed us around the building and the apartment and demonstrated how to access its amenities. It was very quiet in the neighborhood at night so sleeping was no problem. The beds were very firm (which we like), the water is drinkable out of the tap, and having the kitchen allowed us to keep breakfast foods, which we purchased in a nearby market, in the refrigerator.
The only downside was the lack of an elevator. Thankfully my son traded his small bag for my larger one so that I was able to lug it up the stairs. Definitely not handicapped accessible!

It was easy. The location is great. We walked from the train station and loved walking around the canals to restaurants and to get the water taxis.
I booked the apartment based on the photos of the balcony overlooking the canal and chairs on it. However, we did not have a balcony, only windows. I saw one small balcony out our window but it was so small I don't see how it could have matched the photos on the site. I messaged the owner, and they said they normally will text a renter if they receive an apartment without a balcony and let me know that they didn't do this with us.
Also, I understand that they're going for "authentic Roman decor" but really the upholstery was just old and I wondered how clean it was. We stayed in other apartments during our visit through Italy that were going for the same vibe, and I felt they were cleaner than the comforter and chairs in this unit.
The beds were ROCK HARD. Even a pillowtop could have helped.
