Local environment. Bath towels. Staff were polite.
Advert suggests you stay in the heritage building but the majority of rooms are in ugly more modern facilities in the back or remotely in the grounds. Room smelled of damp and/ or cigarettes, it was tired and worn. Peeling paint on walls and ceiling. Dust in corners. Bath leaked in two places. Shower didn't work and wasn't fixed when reported. Iron but no ironing board present in room. Back door to outside was unlocked and not able to be secured unless locked from the outside. Breakfast layout was odd so had to go hunting for food and a place to sit. Food quality was average. (Opinion based on 84 other hotel stays via Booking.com and about 50 nights a year in Marriott hotels)
