Great location!! Within walking distance of the Salisbury Cathedral (and the Magna Carta!) In fact we were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the cathedral (and sweet little sheep grazing by the river) right out of our window. The room was spacious— very welcome from other rooms we’ve stayed at in our travels. And there was a very spacious patio area to enjoy a drink from the bar or just relax and enjoy the views.

Everything was great. But the terrace overlooking the stream (with swans), the field (with sheep) and the cathedral was amazing.

Reasonable size room and a good view over to Salisbury Cathedral. Beds OK
There was no internal phone system. Could not contact reception or housekeeping.
This mattered because the hot water failed in the hotel due to a central breakdown. While I accept these things happen we could not contact reception who made no effort to contact us. We were badly kept advised and when I enquired what they would do if the water was not restored the reception staff had no idea. Fortunately it was reinstated
The internal lighting in the bedroom was totally inadequate.i require a decent light to read by and there was not one in this room
Breakfast was a buffet and adequate. Eggs were overcooked.
Could not get a hot coffee in the bar after 9.30 on a Saturday night as the coffee machine was cleaned overnight in the kitchen.the bar was otherwise deserted.
There was no restaurant but there were signs up outside offering lunch deals. Nothing was mentioned to us in the hotel
