Everyone there was exceptional from the check in staff to the kitchen . I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location, historical appearance of hotel, staff very helpful.

Single room very hot and (this was not during a heatwave), aircon didn’t work sash window only able to be open about 2cm max. Very strange set up re wardrobe. There wasn’t one- a hanging rail( no room for a wardrobe) was in a small cupboard ( no door on it) above a shelf which had the kettle and tea/coffee facilities on it. No room for any lengthy clothes like dresses- tops and trousers over the hangers just fitted above the items stated above. No usb sockets near the bed. One wall had uk twin uk 3pin sockets. Table lamps had round 3 pins plugs on so no use for chargers etc. Socketry was an extension lead fixed to the back wall of the cupboard (with 2 usb sockets and 4/5 3uk pin sockets) the lead ran the length of an adjacent wall, (opposite the end of bed) beneath the radiator, and was plugged into another socket further along. Pillows very hard.

Central location - access to the city on the doorstep.

There’s no immediate parking and breakfast was a long wait (1 hour) - mediocre when it arrived. The hotel was understaffed. Shower water pressure was poor. No complimentary bottled water in the room. No great value at all£130 for the night (single occupancy double)
