The is the best hotel in Sesimbra. Great staff, good breakfast, right beside the sea. We were upgraded to rooms with a seaview, and the view was spectacular. We use the Sana hotel often: this is far from our first time there - we have tried alternatives to try and save some money, but conclude the Sana offers good value for money, with a service level and location one just cannot beat. They also provided free parking underneath the hotel.
There is nothing I did not like.

Great location, one of the best in town.
The pool, which is the hotel’s main attraction, especially in Winter was not functioning properly. The roof had been removed, leaving it fully exposed to the cold winds, and in practice it was not usable. A message sent by the hotel in advance feels, in hindsight, like a disclaimer rather than a real clear explanation - it did not accurately reflect the real condition of the pool. As a family, we would definitely have chosen a different hotel if we had understood the situation in advance, as we cam with kids especially for that. Jacuzzi was ok, but also jets did not work. So bottom line, quite a bummer.
