About this hotel
The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel is a unique literary hotel and the biggest in the world. Located next to the Óbidos Castle, this former convent kept its original charm and was converted in to a hotel called Estalagem do Convento in 1965.

Location, room, hotel ambiance, breakfast, dinner were all excellent and exceeding our expectations. We managed to park for free by the hotel which made the transportation of our luggage easy.

What are unique property, and experience. Surrounded by history and books, unique clean, and the staff were absolutely, over the top lovely.
The only thing that I was questioning is that it is not for physically disabled persons. It is a historical property. Must be able to manage stairs.

Excellent restaurant.
Smell of damp in the hallway. Lack of signage in the breakfast area indicating that cooked eggs could be obtained by ringing a bell. I still don’t know if they provided any extra cooked foods. The custom made seats in the bedrooms were seriously uncomfortable. Also there were no comfortable armchairs or sofas anywhere in the hotel to relax in and read a book? The rice accompanying the duck dish was basically uncooked, (although the duck was superb).
