The location was excellent if you wish for a comfortable accommodation to visit Portugal’s West region. The staff were always attentive and made sure all our requests and needs were met.
There should be an investment in clearer hanging signs in the parking garage. During certain times of the day, it’s harder to find parking because, even though the parking places have an H on them, it’s not as noticeable as it should be. Given that the parking is shared with the mall, the Hotel parking places are usually filled with people that are not staying at the Hotel. It’s not about control, but rather about signage.

The room was pleasant, bed was ok. It was wonderful that we could open the sliding doors and let in the sea/river breeze, but then the nearby forest fires ruined the air quality and we were forced to use air conditioning. The location is convenient about 1-2k from the town center. Ample parking. The pool looked pleasant although we didn't use it. Across the street is a path to the ocean and a beach that many folks used, but we had a different agenda.
We decided to dine at the hotel one evening and my partner selected a pasta dish but didn't like the type of pasta (it was black linguini). He requested a different pasta also listed on the menu with different topping (he would have taken the spaghetti or the tagitinine) , but they refused to make the change. The waiter even went and asked the chef, but no. When the dish arrived the pasta was on one side of the plate and the topping on the other. How difficult would it have been? On this night there were two other tables in the dining room, one with six adults and two infants and another table of two. It isn't as though the kitchen was slammed with orders! Additionally, they offered a selection of wine, but only two by the glass, white or rose. No red wine by the glass. In Portugal! No red wine by the glass! You had to buy a bottle. My husband would have paid more, but he didn't want to be tempted to drink more. These intolerant factors would prompt us to select a different hotel on our next visit.
