Most of it- pleasant staff. Breakfast was disappointing compared to the Mercure in La Rochelle - particularly the very stale bread that could have broken a tooth .

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Montauban from 30–31 August 2026, and we have nothing but praise for our experience. The hotel impressed us in so many ways.
The interior is fresh, elegant and beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail and very good taste. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable — we slept wonderfully.
Breakfast deserves a special mention. It was honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had in France, with an excellent selection and everything you could wish for. If we had to be very picky about one small detail, we would have loved the crêpes to be served warm rather than at room temperature. A warm crêpe with butter and honey is simply a completely different experience!
What made our stay particularly memorable, however, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. They even took the time to help us find our favourite TV channels, always with patience and a smile. We felt very well looked after.
The location is another great advantage: very central and perfect for discovering Montauban on foot, with everything within easy walking distance.
This was our first stay at a Mercure hotel, and it has certainly changed the way we will look for hotels when travelling through France. After such a positive experience, Mercure will definitely be one of the first hotel brands we look for in other French cities.
Highly recommended. We would gladly stay here again.
