location is super great --- just few hundred metres from Koln central station. hotel is on a street where you can easily find meals from 6.00 to 22.00 (very rare in Germany) --- and is, at the same time rather quiet. reception is available from 10.00 (usually earlier) to 22.00.
staff is very kind --- they are trying to help you with small issues you have even if this is unrelated to their hotel.
there is no shower in the room (they probably tell it in the description, but I managed to miss it). if you go shower early and forget the card for your room, you will have to wait until reception arrives (that's what happened to me on my last night at the hotel).

the beds are uncomfortable if you are a couple as theres space in the middle, bathroom could be better equipped/upgraded, too expensive for these facilities

Decent place in a Turkish area with lots of food options nearby. Nice street vibes. Room was clean.
The location is close to the train and only 1 stop from the main station, so the location is really convenient. If I was staying longer in Köln, I'd probably pick another place tbh.
When I wanted to check in, there was no one at the desk and no phone number. The front door was locked. I had to wait on the street with my stuff. It was about 8 or 9pm. I was told there is someone at the desk at all times. But the entire hotel was locked. I then waited at a restaurant across the street. The guy at the restaurant even called the hotel but there was no response. Finally the guy came and unlocked the door and let me check in. That was quite annoying.
One bathroom on the main floor, a flight down from my room shared between guests. It was never occupied when I wanted to use it though. And it was clean.
I wouldn't stay here again.
