Sofitel Hangzhou Westlake

Very good location right next to the Westlake. Great customer service staff.

Our bathroom water leaking from shower to the outside. Housekeeping had to use a towel to stop the water for 2 nights. No room replacement offered or compensation. Shower area lots of mould dark and brown. Need a good scrub.

Location of the hotel was spot on, just a quick stroll away from the lake and yet close enough to the shopping area if you wanted to shop and dine.

Firstly, Sofitel hotel itself is amazing with the friendly staff at the reception. Checking in is a breeze as we reached the hotel way pass midnight. The staff on duty did a very quick check in for us. Hotel room is located on the 5th Floor, Room#522 and it was clean and has no funny smell. The concierge team is amazing too. They are very helpful and can speak English too. The hotel even has the car rental service to drive us anywhere we need to go. Charges are quite reasonable too. The reception staff are wonderful to help us order food from the app MeiTuan as we do not have the China phone number. I had the Peking Duck & Chagee milk tea ordered and delivered to us upstairs. They have the little robot to do the deliveries to the rooms. The little robot is so cute. That's how amazing China is now. As for the breakfast spread, it is acceptable as it has both the local and international stuff. There's a large variety of freshly squeezed juices and diff types of milk (skim, whole or hot milk) to choose from daily. Large variety of fresh fruits too. The grapes are large and juicy...that's my fav. Room cleaning is perfect as well. Housekeeping staff even called us if we want them to clean the room as we turned on the DND sign. That's amazing! Things are being replenished on a daily basis and hotel provided lots of bottled drinking water. There's a 24 hrs convenient store just next to the hotel & they have a good variety of things to buy (drinks & food). We also managed to catch the sun rise from the hotel roof top in the morning; it is so beautiful. WestLake is just 5 mins walk from the hotel by using the underpass right outside the hotel on the left-hand side of the entrance. That's a real bonus. The nearest DingAn Road subway station is also about 15 mins walk from the hotel (depends on the speed). Overall, Sofitel Hangzhou Westlake is a great place to stay.

Nothing bad to mentioned but maybe the hotel management can consider to either provide an extra dustbin or a bigger dustbin in the room. The dustbin that we have is a little too small to hold the rubbish. It is not nice to have the rubbish scattered everywhere in the toilet area.

The location is very close to West Lake, only 5 min walk. It is very convenient to enjoy the sightseeing spot at West Lake. Air condition in the room is good enough.

The hotel is quite old style, while the room charge is quite high. I think based on what i have paid, the hotel doesn't worth the price.
