Hotel Restaurant Bellevue au Lac

The views are amazing, you have a porch overlooking thun lake and the mountains. You have an easy access to a small porch above the lake that you can go swimming. The room is large and spacious and the breakfast was great with many choices. You have a Migros a couple minutes away, and bus stops nearby.

No proper mini fridge, there is a minibar with the hotel’s drinks so i had to take them out so i could store my stuff there. No AC in the room, only a fan which didn’t work in our room, when we asked to take care of that they gave us a different fan, which was small and really not that good, but we somehow managed. The bathroom shower drain was clogged and we had to shower with a very low stream to not flood the room. Although you have a migros and buses close, you really don’t have anything else in the area besides that.

The hotel’s location is fantastic and our room was nice. I also want to mention that the waitress during lunch and dinner was very pleasant and professional.

The overall service and management left a negative impression. During breakfast, the main restaurant was completely full, so we sat on the terrace and had to set the table ourselves — not a problem in itself. Meanwhile, one waiter was running around trying to handle everything alone, while a receptionist sat among the guests, calmly eating his breakfast and ignoring the situation. Later, he walked through the restaurant in swimwear and went swimming with a towel over his shoulder, which looked extremely unprofessional. The hotel has potential, but the lack of coordination and discipline in the team seriously affects the guest experience.

Really great staff. Appreciate all the help and kindness of Hannah and the breakfast setup person plus the server for lunch and dinner. They all did a great job. Beautiful location on the lake. Meals here were really good. The hotel is a historical place about 100 years old. Water gets really hot for a shower in about 5 minutes. They had posted a cute sign in the bathroom to tell you to let the historic water pipes warm up. Our daughter had a balcony view of the lake, which she really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is such a beautiful location and close to so many attractions. We used to always go to lauterbrunnen or Grinderwald but realize those places have so many tourists that it’s better to stay on the lake where you can enjoy the gorgeous lake Thank you to the staff there who made our visit extra special
