The friendly helpful staff
The Montalvo was an independent hotel, lately talen over by the AZZ chain. Cost cutting from the previous regime lowers the standards previously given. No water for guests rooms, no coffee machine as before and they've installed smaller beds. Have used the Montalvo twice a year for the last 4 years. Disappointed by the changes this year.

Hotel is ideally situated for city visit.
It was noisy. 5.30am is not a good time to hear departing guests leaving rooms.
The food served for breakfast was very poor. Not enough choice, not hot, a real disappointment.
Beds were uncomfortable.
