The location and the staff
The bed was not as comfortable as expected

We stayed at Hotel Ideon for 5 nights. Close to the Old Town. Room was comfortable with balcony. Buffet had a good selection to choose from. Paid Parking across the road if you plan to hire a car. Staff were helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Rethymno.
Nothing I didn’t like.

Amazing location on the edge of the old town, near the fortezza. Clean, modern, good food, attentive staff - couldn’t ask for more

My room was located above the restaurant which could be accessed from the side instead of the main hotel, the light board situation they had going on in the room was frustrating and unnecessary. And was glitching and turning lights on and off on its own until they fixed it on their third attempt. The room was large and comfortable but missing charm and warmth. Overall I wouldn’t stay here nor would I recommend it based on the vibes and my impression as a solo female traveler. Staff and even their other guests were cold and kind of snobby, location was ok but would’ve preferred to be someplace else, and my last criticism is why coffee not be included free of charge with the free breakfast ??? Was billed separately for the coffee, mind you I would’ve liked another cup but the waiter avoided my table, was hard enough to get the first cup. Something is off about this place.
I didn’t like the staff’s cold attitudes, parking was not provided by property, my room being detached from the main hotel (would not have booked if I’d known in advance), and the location was meh..
