Friendly staff, beach views, nice size shower, swimming pools, restaurant food, relaxing atmosphere and ambiance including khoi fish pond.
Beer glass sizes are confusing compared to international standard of 500ml for a pint.

The check-in process was efficient and my room was ready for the 2pm check-in. The kindness shown by Maya in the main restaurant over dinner time was special as she went out of her way to check up on me as she noticed I was a solo traveller. The turndown service was a lovely touch! The room was very comfortable with quality linen on the bed.
The staff to visitor ratio in the main restaurant is off - the staff seem very flustered during breakfast time. The breakfast area follows a linear format, with lots of foot traffic around the made-to-order section. As a suggestion, this congestion could be alleviated by relocating this section somewhere else in the restaurant, perhaps on the verandah area? During my stay, I had to call for my room to be cleaned. I thought this was odd as I was away from my room for extended periods of time. As a suggestion, the other side of the 'do not disturb' sign should have a 'please make up room' sign as an alert for the housekeeping staff. I don't believe that the value proposition for this hotel is evident - it is quite expensive when compared to the price point of a Beachcomber resort.

I loved the food and the service at the Coquillages and Ginger Thai Restaurants, as well as the quality and variety of the breakfast buffet. I enjoyed the thematic buffet dinners, especially the Mauritian Night. The whole resort is a picture-perfect tropical paradise and there are so many free fun activities from kayaking and paddleboarding to table tennis and volleyball, to name a few. What I loved the most is that you can contact the Resort at any time via WhatsApp and they will help you whether you have an issue with your room or are in Port Louis and for some reason cannot get in touch with your driver. A very special thank you to all the amazing staff I met at the Resort: James, Mihi (Coquillages), Eric, Natascha (the girl in the towel hut that always brought the sun out with her smile), Djiovan, Patrice, Douaa, the girl that cooked our eggs every morning with the utmost professionalism, the boy at the breakfast/dinner buffet that would always bring our dishes to the table, and so many more whose name I unfortunately did not memorise.
This has truly been the most difficult review I have ever written. Usually, it's either good or bad. However, as amazing as some professionals are, others can make your holidays in paradise truly feel like a nightmare. Incidents happen and James, the Food and Drinks Manager, could not have been more understanding, helpful and attentive. He showered us with love and care and truly made up for an unfortunate incident at the buffet. Sadly, as more and more guests arrived, and the cleaning personnel got overworked and overwhelmed, their manager failed to recognise and solve the problem to the point our room door was left open and unattended while we were having dinner. This is what happens when one person is in charge of several rooms and is constantly being asked to multiply themselves. As a manager myself, this is the kind of situation which is not the overworked employee's fault, but the manager's responsibility to allocate more resources where they are needed. Even though they tried to make up for it and the late check-out was much appreciated, to this day I cannot understand why they put an expresso machine in our room. We asked for the towels and the bedsheets to be changed and the dirty cups and glasses to be removed. We were already there for over five days and the bedsheets had never been changed. What's worse, we went on two excursions and spent most of our time at the beach doing watersports and taking pictures. So, we don't know how many times our room door had been left open or how many people entered our room. I don't wish for anyone to be punished because they're overworked, I only wish that management holds middle managers accountable and strives to do better.
