Harbour Hotel Padstow

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location with lovely friendly staff

Only negative is that a cooked breakfast should be included and not a paid extra option.

Proximity to harbour, views over to Rock, decor and modern feel

Room 19 was quite dark and right next to the lift so there were strange noises throughout day and into evening. For such expensive rooms, we would have expected a larger tv screen.

The hotel was clean and very nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and free parking was a real bonus in Padstow. Location is close to the centre but a walk up and down a hill if you are restricted in anyway.

It sells itself as a premium hotel but the experience was different. Our room was very small for the amount we paid. They had shoehorned a bathroom into the space. When we arrived the room was boiling hot as the towel rail was left on at full heat and a table fan was blasting away in the room with all windows closed. Obviously not inspected before our arrival. We are not big drinkers but they promote "complimentary gin and sherry". No sherry and just enough gin to make one drink. Not topped up during our stay. It states breakfast included until you find out you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast on top of an already premium price. All Continental breakfast elements are squeezed onto the bar which causes congestion at busy time. The continental choice was limited compared to many lower priced and rated hotels we have stayed in. A separate cold and uninviting breakfast room is used for overflow at busy times. Constant comments from breakfast staff that they are understaffed and rushing around with little client contact and care. It feels that everything is extra cost and the little details were missing.
