Beautiful rooms over the harbour, small steep staircases. Comfortable, excellent bathrooms. An excellent breakfast.

Location was perfect, affordable parking nearby. Room was large with views across the harbour. The bar downstairs was very nice and breakfast had lots of choices both cooked and continental selection. Room and communal areas, corridors, seating areas were clean and uncluttered. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Staff said check in time was 4pm not 3pm as on our confirmation, didn’t cause a problem as our room was ready but would be good to make clear when booking.

Clean and comfortable accommodation and a tasty breakfast

Beautiful building in a lovely location in Padstow. Friendly and accommodating staff on arrival, with an early check-in despite the pouring rain. We were given a lovely window table for dinner. Our room had a gorgeous view and the bathroom and bedding were clean, with crisp white linen and towels. Breakfast was also good

Room 6 was tired and overpriced for the standard. Peeling wallpaper, worn paintwork and carpets, dog mess that hadn’t been properly cleaned, and a lumpy mattress and pillow. Being above the pub meant conversations could be heard almost word for word during opening hours, followed by noise from upstairs, slamming doors and furniture being scraped across the floor after midnight. The Thai curry was disappointing — rubbery chicken and soggy peppers, and it tasted as though it may have been reheated from yesterday’s leftovers. The biggest disappointment was the welcome at breakfast from Martina. She didn’t look up from her computer, simply told us to wait and held up her finger, without even a smile or acknowledgement. She left a lasting poor impression and unfortunately was the final impression of our stay.
