Best Western Lichfield City Centre The George Hotel

I usually spend less money, but Lichfield is small and there were few options and there must have been something exciting going on (or just halloween) as I couldn't actually book a weekend anywhere else! So I did not come here particularly on purpose or with a lot of expectations. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend. However, this was the absolutely nicest Best Western I have ever experienced, and everything was great. Bed was nice, shower was lovely, internet was great, breakfast buffet was exactly as expected, and the staff that I interacted with were all absolutely lovely. You absolutely cannot beat the central, walkable location, as well, just around the corner from the market square, and walking distance to everything in Lichfield. Absolutely recommended.

As is often the case with older buildings, the door was not actually airtight, so a tiny bit of light and some sound spilled in from the hallway. However, I was at the END of the hallway, so I was not much disturbed by others coming and going.

Convenient central location. Room was quiet even though a large function was taking place. Breakfast buffet overall was pretty good. Pleasant resident lounge/bar.

The “orange juice” at breakfast seemed to be made from powder and tasted most unpleasant. The specific room description in the details provided by Booking.com said the twin room had a minibar. It did not. I didn’t need a minibar but the description was inaccurate.

Great Location and lovely Sunday lunch

Location. Staff. Very good food comfortable bed and room sufficient for my needs. Receptionist was very helpful finding me and my group a carvery for the Sunday. Very impressed.

I couldn’t get the shower tap to stop dripping. An early night was not possible on one night due to a Halloween party going on next room.
