Beautiful stay in this exceptional real castle accommodation. Amy and Kate on reception made sure everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing decor (we were in the Lilly Langtree room), extremely comfortable 4 poster bed, modern updated bathroom right on theme with rain shower head and great water pressure. Heaps of space in the room with sitting area and dressing area. Excellent food at dinner and breakfast with friendly professional staff. Added bonuses parking and in room safe. Walk the grounds, learn the history, follow the peacocks. Memorable!
Remembering you are in a building that is hundreds of years old, with slightly wonky stairs, and slightly sloping floors here and there. Nothing to dislike.

Lovely location, good size room and bathroom. Had a bath.
We only booked standard room, but the decor is obviously old and worn.

Large comfortable room, good comfortable beds, good selection of food for breakfast.
The beautiful peacocks living in the grounds.
Friendly and helpful young team of staff in Reception, restaurant and housekeeping.
Cleanliness of the bathroom. Nice chandeliers throughout but lighting poor. Generally shabby and not a 4 star standard.
No criticism of the staff, but the management and general maintenance needs to be improved.
