The architecture is stunning. The location is outstanding as it's just farther enough away from the louder parts of the town but is a 2 minute walk from trendy cafes and restaurants and the sea front. The staff weren't just helpful but they were engaging and obviously passionate about where their hotel is going, and you felt very much at home but in a smaller Downton Abbey. The essence of Victorian splendour is around every corner.
The hotel did seem to have facilities for a hot kitchen but only offers a normal Continental breakfast for an extra cost. I understand that the option is there as there are plenty of places to eat in the area, so far play there. The hotel is perfectly comfortable and you will want for nothing but it is going under quite a substantial refurbishment. The owners are going to great lengths to preserve and offer future rooms refurbished to their Victorian splendour, one bathroom is already complete and is definitely worth watching their YouTube channel to check it out.
