Very comfortable and spacious room, good breakfast although a little on the expensive side.
I had to travel to Sydney suddenly as my dad had a heart attack. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to stay so booked two nights which was roughly $379. On the day that I found out he was not going to make it I went to the reception to book another night. The receptionist told me that another night was going to be $430 something. I asked why one night was more than the two nights I had already booked and she said that it was because there was a NRL game on. I shared with her that I wasn’t there for an NRL game and that my father was going to die today. She just shrugged and said sorry for your loss but there’s nothing I can do. I told her I’d stay somewhere else and left. Later when I came back after my father had passed away I went up to my room exhausted ready to lie down, and my key didn’t work. I went back down to ask why and get it sorted. Upon meeting another different person they asked how my day had been. I shared with them the events of the day and they didn’t offer any sympathy just a dry sorry for your loss. There was no free breakfast added in or anything that could have made me feel a bit more comforted and supported while I was in another country with no family and having just experienced such a traumatic event. I wouldn’t choose to stay there again. Also might I add I went and stayed at the Novotel which is much closer to the stadium and they weren’t price gouging.
