Lovely friendly and helpful staff. In particular we met Britt, Scarlett and Jonathan, who all did their best to make sure our stay was exceptional. Our stay coincided with my birthday and we had a large family group in for Sunday lunch. The food quality was excellent, the waiting staff were exceptional, and it made for a memorable birthday celebration.
In our room it seemed that every detail had been carefully considered to make it as comfortable and luxurious as possible. We were therefore a bit disappointed to find that the pillows provided on the bed were flat and a bit uncomfortable. To be fair, once we reported this to staff, they ensured that fresh pillows of a better quality were provided for our second night.

This place exceeded our expectations, after a very last minute reservation they were able to provide both a travel cot and dog bed, for a very late arrival. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful, the room was large, very comfy, had all the amenities, good size bathroom. The property surroundings are great, a large garden area where dogs are welcome, as well as walking trails close by to stretch the legs. Breakfast was great, would highly recommend this property.

The design of the suite itself was lovely — modern, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The large windows offered a beautiful view of the lake, which was one of the highlights of the stay and made the room feel calm and inviting. The shower was powerful with consistently hot water, and the room was spotlessly clean. In terms of presentation and cleanliness, we genuinely couldn’t fault it. A few members of staff were also very professional and helpful, and their manner was appreciated.

The reception booth is located inside the main pub, and because it was so busy, we struggled to hear the staff member checking us in. It would have made far more sense for reception to be placed in the quieter lobby area leading up to the rooms.
We were also asked to pay a £30 deposit “in case we ran off with the TV.” I’ve never had to do this in any hotel I’ve stayed in, and it felt unnecessary and excessive.
Breakfast was tasty, but at £13.50 it was overpriced. It was the smallest full breakfast I’ve ever been served — a large bowl of baked beans dominating the plate, while the sausage and bacon were tiny, and the mushroom was diced so finely it barely resembled a portion. It didn’t feel like value for money.
The bed was uncomfortable, and I woke up with backache. It was clearly two single beds pushed together rather than a proper double.
The honesty bar was overpriced, and I strongly suspect the £30 deposit was actually to cover bar use rather than any concern about the TV. For a suite, the complimentary tea and coffee selection was minimal, and a couple of biscuits would have been a simple, reasonable touch considering the room price.
As we were gathering our things to leave, we received a knock on the door at one minute to 11am — . It felt like we were being hurried out. My husband explained to the housekeeper that the knock wasn’t necessary as we were already aware of the checkout time. The housekeeper became argumentative, which left us feeling pressured and uncomfortable
