Location, comfort, design
The thermostat is fixed to a range and we had to persist to get our room to a cooler temp. Management did ultimately respond to our need.

Compact room but wonderful view of the beach and lighthouse.
Limited storage was ok for our 2 night stay but would not be comfortable for longer vacation.

Location was perfect. Short walk to the main beach and to shops/bars/restaurants.
Room was large, clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
There wasn't a bar, although apparently there's one at a sister hotel nearby.
Breakfast we thought was expensive

Newly refurbished rooms, Seaside-Resort style, quite fitting to Biarritz. Location of the hotel is excellent
Quite disappointed with the staff. Especially with the one guy at the front desk, he was not helpful, unfriendly, could not care less. Our friend was sick and we asked if we could have at least 1 room a bit earlier than the 3pm check in time, which he declined. So she had to sit in the lobby for 2 hours while being sick. Nice welcome! No flexibility, no going above and beyond. We had to ask for bathroom towels 3 days in a row, the cleaning lady always "forgot" to provide some. It is the small things like this that matter, and the staff in general were not enthusiastic about their jobs.
