The Royal Harbour Hotel

Great location and customer service. Fantastic communal facilities and a cosy and homely room. Easy to check out and good access to on road parking.

It could have had more complimentary tea and coffee options.

The room was beautifully clean and the view was stunning. The customer service and check in details were excellent and made the process very easy.

The shower was either scorching hot or freezing cold and the shower screen leaks so the whole bathroom floor became a puddle. The TV didn’t work and the bed was far too soft.

This hotel (well hotels as it is 2 buildings a few doors apart from each other) has wonderful views of Ramsgate Harbour. All rooms were decorated nicely, very interesting art work in the hotels and very clean in each room. There is generally enough parking outside the hotel and you are very close to the centre of the town whilst enjoying these amazing views. If you are looking for a funky place to stay for a night or just using your room to sleep then this is good for that. Nice chap greets you.

I wanted rooms close together and sent a message of such when booking in about April this year. I also rang and left a message (on an American answerphone system) about a week before our visit, to mention again my mother's lack of mobility (she is 89) and rooms being close together. I did not get any response to the call, but did receive a text message on arrival day which was pretty much these are your rooms as you booked them. Unfortunately, it was not how I thought I had booked them as I was told one room, mine, was in a separate building, that I was totally unaware even existed. It was not apparent when booking. I was under the impression my son was on the top floor, I was on the second and my mother on the first. My son and my mother were on those floors but I was in the building 3 doors away, I was told this was what I booked and so that was how it would be. It was not worth arguing - we were only there a night. My room was good, but my mother's was tiny as was my son's. They have increased the number of bedrooms by decreasing the majority of room sizes by half (we went a long time ago and I thought all balcony rooms would be large - my poor Mum was not pleasantly surprised as I hoped she would be). The decor is good though. There were no drinking facilities in my hotel and only tea and coffee available at the main hotel on the ground floor. In fact this was the only communal space to relax away from your room, my part of the hotel had none. It is indeed a 2 star hotel in that you get your, brightly decorated, clean room and that is it apart from soap in the bathroom. I would have been so pleased to see they stretched to a bottle of water in each room as it is essential at night to drink water. Nice chap greeted us.

Great location, bedding lovely and soft. Grateful for the fan.

Our bedroom floor wasn’t level, subsequently so was the bed. Your feet are higher than your head. But I guess that’s to come with such an old house.
