Herriots Hotel

My husband's fulll English breakfast was very good. I would have liked more egg choices eg soft bolied eggs

We have booked the same room twice and it is great. Breakfast had improved to last year.

The bar was supposed to be open until 11pm but on a couple of nights was shut early.

Very attentive and efficient staff, whether at Reception or in the Restaurant. The ambience was helped by there being no Saturday night parties/weddings as a couple of the Function Rooms are on the second floor where I was staying. Location - right opposite Skiption Railway Station, but remarkably quiet given the Hotel is on the main road, but it is just out of town which helps. Good food both at breakfast (0730 M-F & 0800 Sat/Sun) and dinner (ate there every night). In the morning you exit the Hotel via the side entrance; better for me as it avoids steps!

IDEALLY, a lift would help but given the building I know that's unlikely to happen (I did know there was no lift beforehand). Would be nice if breakfast started earlier at the weekends (eg 0730 as on Monday to Friday).

Room had only one electrical socket that was located on the desk/dressing table. Nowhere to plug in telephone by bedside. No air conditioning.
